While country’s per capita income is an indicator of how well it is doing, the Health care the picture for India is bleak. Even though life expectancy has risen to 63.3 years, in general, health outcomes are far from satisfactory. There are very high levels of  premature mortality and widespread morbidity in the population, especially in

the younger age-groups. Improvement in people’s health is important for the attainment of the developmental goals. The Indian maternal mortality rate of 407 per 100,000 live births was one of the highest in the world and these numbers are expected to grow rapidly Since economic growth and population health are correlated. However, in the case of the relationship between economic growth rate is important, these go hand in hand. The current very high burden of disease in India is a barrier to its economic growth. The costs of investing in people’s health, is much less compared to the cost of paying inadequate attention to it. Health is also instrumental in generating higher incomes as it increases people’s productivity, rising income and education levels as well as spread of literacy in the population. Most countries of the world accept the provision of health care as part of

the state’s social contract with its citizens.

The quality of health care in India is an immensely neglected area. Courtesy and respect shown to patients during visits by providers is appalling. The quality of health care services provided by the Medical Consultants is extremely low along almost all the criteria on which quality can be judged. This in spite of the large fees they charge. Infrastructure, application of suitable drugs, equipment and regular presence of qualified medical. Professionals and treatment of patients adds to the vows. Health care provision requires specialized skill and training on the part of medical personnel. Medical practitioners need to keep up with the latest developments in medicine and also need to respect the right of the patient to informed consent in the treatment prescribed. One of the major lacunae in India’s health system is lack of quality control and unregulated standards of care. The quality of health care services provided depends not only on the skills and ability of medical personnel but also how updted they keep themselves with the latest developments and how much interest do they take in a patient.

I strongly believe that Most Medical professionals both with  private practice and those working in Hospital take more than. then they can handle not devoting enough time to a patient and not processing his/her personal history, share these with other professionals and not giving them enought time to keep themselves updated with the progress in theie field.
