The railway is operating since early 19 th century in India. As of date our system are fail safe.

I am of the openion that Railway should change its approach on safty now and off course it can be done.

Prepare a blueprint of safty and put the same in practice. With more than 1.6 million employees I think it should not be difficult.

One should identify the problem routes which are accident prone and those areas should be guarded by armed either RPF or some new agency, to be created, after threough brain storming. The concerned minister should also be involved and operate from base i.e New Delhi.

Thanks for the referral Mr Rathin

The railways are truly doing good business now a days, but safety is really neglected which is evident by the recent episodes. The railway ministry should take steps for public safety, after all this is the mode of transport which most of Indians use for travelling.

YES SURELY THERE SHOULD BE MORE CHANGE IN THE RAILWAY.

Railways in the past few years or may be a decade, have improved very very much. The very fact that till LALU YADAV came in as the RAILWAY MINISTER, till then INDIAN RAILWAYS was proudly showing LOSSES. NOW, IT IS VERY PROUD TO SHOW THE PROFITS.

NOW, IN THE CURRENT SCENARIO railways are having surplus MONIES to incorporate the changes.

We have seen the changes. The railways have also incorporated some huge changes for safety. The signalling has been changed, there are security officers in every coach of the train. In Mumbai, in the local trains there are guards in the Ladies coaches.

So, wait for a few years, the monies will grow & the safety measures will increase.

Yes, I do agree. Safety is the most neglected part of the Indian Railways. There is not much attempt on the part of the concerned authorities to re-vamp the system. It's still in the same condition as was at the time of its inception.
