Thanks for referral Ms. Darshana. First I have a question to you, how can you decide that all ministers are involved in corruption. Even all ministers involved in corruptions, who pay them and asks to involve in corruption. All this things are made only by politicians, don't sure our citizens are not involved in this. I guess this increment may encourage the ministers to serve people. I don't think that this is unfair

there must be a revised pay scale for all those starting from scratch and proper calculation of performance score based on which incentives must be given.

Even then also it is very less compare to other government officials. A person who give direction/order to all government officials receiving less salary just contradictory.

Fair or unfair the initiatives get triggered at center. Once center increases salaries the states are forced to follow suit. In this particular case salaries of members of parliament works as initiator.

they have poor salary so increase is fair but they should increase it to that level where they should feel that they dont need to do corruption and eat our money. So they should debate among themselves if the increase is ok with all of them and now there is no need for corruption. Cheers!!

The previous salaries were in the range of 10-12k ... if increasing these by 100-150% makes it 25-30k then I think it is fair enough considering the rise in inflation. However the perks should be kept on a check.

It is obvious, that 99.9% of these persons do not depend on salary for their living. Just name sake they take some token salary. In which case it is immaterial to keep very low salary, which will it self confirms they can never live on salary alone. Better to revise as per some corporate norms. It should be uniform in India throughout.

Rs. 12,000 as a salary for a Chief Minister is very unfair. The Chief Minister's Salary plus all other income / perks must Rs. 2,00,000 and the Cabinet Ministers must get at least 1.75 lakhs (Salary + Perks) and the MLA's must get at least 1.25 lakhs.

In recent era we could find none of the clean hand politicians in our country. Just dont look at the pay & allowances, they enjoying much more benfits than what a common man knows.

already in the name of being a part of the government they are enjoying huge benefits..... increasing their salary and allowances will make feel that they are powerful and make all sort of fighting and non senses using their money and power............

Thanks Darshana for referral. To me the ministers should not get any financial benefits from Govt unless politics is declared as full time profession. In one hand they claim to voluntarily serve the public sacrificing their personal careers and other hand demanding for salary hike which will be paid from pockets of common people. Have you ever seen a poor leader though they have no declared profession. Their life styles are comparable to any rich industrialist. The question is “HOW”? But they don’t need to declare their income source till very recently election commission instructed to do so for those only who are participating in elections. Can you tolerate the two faces of politicians?

Yes Ms. Dharsana. I do agree with you. As a person governing the public interest needs to be comfortable in their pocket. But, this should, on the other hand, encourage them not to indulge in corruption. But it is not happening. So we take it , it is the incentive for the recent Floor-test & other connected dramas.

Darshana I think this has been done because everybody is eying the ministers particularly of Karnatak because of mass scale corruption. This increase is just to tell them that they are not corrupt. Lets wait and watch if corruption is stopped by doing this it is fine but I have my doubt.

the total salary of a just joined commissioned officer in defence is more than rs40000/- then how can we expect the salary of a cm just rs25000/-. But in reality this salary is nothing if you compare with their pocket. nobody join politics for salary but for fring benefits through unethical means
