Let us look at the big picture: imagine having one query language, one client, and one data access protocol which let you arbitrarily slice the data of Flickr, delicious, Google, and favorite Web 2.0 site— plus anything that can be mapped into RDF. This is data integration the Web 2.0 and the Semantic Web way. But still there are differences which we all need to find out.

It focuses on the data and on intelligent data sharing, integration, combination. This is something that the Semantic Web has been pushing for years. The good thing about this is that it focuses on simple data formats and community based developments of common terminologies. The SW uses more complex formalisms (like RDF Schemas, OWL, or Rules) and their related algorithms to solve harder problems. SW puts a great emphasis on describing and defining the relationships among data, which gets less focus in Web 2.0

One of the main aspects of Web2.0, i.e., that applications are based on combining various type of data that are spread all around on the Web, coincides with the very essence of the Semantic Web. In some cases problem may get really hard and needs inferences, reasoning services; but Web 2.0 will be able to seamlessly “up shift” to RDF Schemas, SKOS, OWL, or Rules, making use of the greater expressibility of those technologies. SW is less focused on the human user experience, in contrast to Web 2.0 that is also focused on user interface aspects

Thanks viktor for the information...never thought that Mobile phones can be used as ultra sound scanners...the technological advancement like these are really great...and thanks posting the article.....
Thanks for the information Dilip.
yes a good article indeed but then there is very good description of datamining overlapping with others in the process, and predictive analytics is going to be used in many ways like in banking and other core sectors as well.
