Recently Shahrukh Khan said that India needs to make movies that impress global audience and expects to achieve the level in near future. He said the problem is that the language that we use in our films is Hindi. So, Hollywood, has the only advantage that they have is that they speak in English. They're great filmmakers also. But that's a big advantage, that we don't make films in English.

With Indian movies being made especially for Indian audience across the world will be difficult to enter the mainstream like Hollywood movies which are more accepted by people all over the world? What do you think people will India emerge as a global player in Films?? Do give  your views on this

India has the full capability to emerge as a global player in films. We are the largest number of film producing nations. Our screenplays are also competating Western world these days. Only because of Non-English movies, we are not getting global recognition. If the language barrier is taken care of, Iam sure, no nation can compete with us in movies.

Yes but only if we come up with good all round productions, which is to be good story wise, casting wise, etc. It is not going to be soon as of thousands of Indian films, we get good quality films in single digit percentiles. Long way to go, however it is possible.

I feel and voice the same sentiments!!

Its not at all bad to be positive. With big banners like Yash Raj, KJo, Nadiadwala's, Rakesh Roshan.. etc technology is eiher coming in or is already in India. The problem here is that people are still comfortable watching the antics of Akshay kumar in a comic banter rather than his serious film TASVEER!! A film like BLUE which is certainly the first underwater attempt and a very good one at that, flopped miserably!!

So technologically India is going leaps and bpounds. What really requires is the IMPACT that small cinemas like a DEV D or MANORAMA - Six Feet under can cause on the audiences with the bigger name stars! Our big guns are stuck to the genre of romantic capers. Its only now that Big B is attempting a PAA. But it requires a Balki (Advertising vertical) to do it!!

So for Indian Cinema to come of age, if the big guns also put their best foot forward and accomodate new age creative writers and Directors (by this I mean the fees that they charge), I can definitely say there would be a range of worth while Indian Cinema to watch!! Thanks for the referral :)

Only if we broaden our perspective to become global, think global and speak global English as well as produce sophisticated scripts (not the run off the mill ones the likes in which Sharukh performs) to produce Bollywood class techniques in photography, direction, locales, casting, etc. can we produce world-class movies from Bollywood.

It will take some more years may be a decade,to expect movies to be produced in India of world standards, because of the language and usage and pronunciation and finally even though we have developed technologically equivalent to Hollywood standards. The situational demands vary from place to place, which is quite different inthe west compared to the east.

A s rightly said by Mark Twain East is West is West;Never the Twain shall meet.
