Not exactly banning but should be reduced. Nowadays we find 'n' number MBA colleges in India which is gradually reducing the value of MBA. So the government should make the regulation more strict and have control over the approval process.

This will help to maintain a standard for the Indian MBA degree !!

Thanks for the referral Ms Sarika

I agree with Ms Sarika, and don’t think that banning is an option; the main problem is that MBA institutes are coming out like mushroom and they have taken away the charm or rather the importance of MBA. One thing we can do is to merge different institutes, by merging I don’t mean that they can get affiliated, I mean that the same protocol should be followed in all institute coming under one banner. Quality should not be compromised when merging different institutes. Unless strict laws are made, not only for MBA but for the whole education system quality standard cannot be maintained.

I believe yes it should be but too an extent not upto top 20 in clear sense...justification is that if it is done so what do you suggest what should those students do which cannot get into this top 20? so I believe a quality check is required and yes a cut down would be better for the society as students wont have to waste money behind poor quality institutions...

Banning or reducing numbers  is not a solution.

why we need to ban if survey has proved that there are some MBA student who has done MBA from ordinary B-school and proved that they are better in Management.

Yes. I agreed that no. of B-school are increasing without control over quality but remind the concept of CONTROL that we learned in MANAGEMENT eduction. We never need to stop the business if it is in loss we need to find reason and need to have better CONTROL functions.

No. of student spends 2,3 or 4 years to get admission in top B-school of India but it is not possible for every  student to give extra 2 or 3 years and takes admission in ordinary B-school.

So government need to set some norms to improve quality of MBA institutes.

Why ban MBA colleges? In fact, statistics tell us that we require more MBA colleges. So the solution is effective regulation of management education in India. Till now, the AICTE has not been able to do that effectively. There have also been politicization of the regulatory process and allegation of corruption. All this does not give us the confidence. Yet, there's no other solution than effective regulation of management education and providing a fair chance to the institutes to compete among themselves and let the market forces play their role in weeding out the ineffective ones.

Ban something is simplest way. There shall be more strictures applied so that the sanctity of the value of MBA shall not be derailed off the line. Improvement by any means is the way of life.

No, it is not possible to ban any course. However, there is a need to control not only MBA but also all the degrees in India. Number of people are coming out without sufficient knowledge. The Govt. and its bodies have to look into these courses and regulate them properly.
