I think proper understanding & listening increase potential to learn more.A good citizenship is one who self Reliant, not over confident & situation friendly. Doing or Not Doing does not matter, communal love,Interrelated sharing of Problem, searching alternative ways to solve issue matter a lot.We need a Obligatory indian ,not a routine personnel.

The concept of universal brotherhood is very good to dream about, but its impracticle. People are struggling on regions in this land. The concept practically not correct atleast from our point of view. As per the situation in Andhra Pradesh at this moment, if u visit Telangana area and talk about of united Andhra Pradesh, I doubt you will not come out with lives, that is the poison pill successfully injected by the TRS party and its leadership and some congressmen also. This is the situation in our land, how can we aspire for universal brotherhood.

when there is no alternative to decide the citizenship of a person, birth is the only criteria for it. I cant agree with the point of Rahul. Sons and daughters came from one womb are tend to be different. Its our expereince how many sons and daughters are loyal to their parents. How can we expect everyone to be loyal and graceous to the country. Being loyal and graceful to the land is different from the point of argument here. Take the case of Mother Teresa, India has given her the citizenship. Here we are claiming that India given her the citizenship, because she is born outside India but settled in India with her graceous gestures, she earned the respect and she was offered the citizenship which she aptly accepted. When mere births determining your caste, religion and region, why cant your citizenship. We are branding people about his/her caste, region and religion, without talking his/her intent into consideration, where birth has nothing to do with these things. When there is no other criteria to decide the question of citizenship, birth is the only criteria to decide

shweta i think it is birth right of everyone who born should get citizenship. how many of us have did anything mentionable for the country. very few then what about rest. if someone does wrong to country he should be punished. but they are very few. Even Some of criminal also refuges to do task against his own country though they do evil by their own. outsiders are outsiders ,mughal, british also did good at initially for india & then they had shown their original nature.

Theoritically, I also agree the line that birth only should be not criteria. But in our present system there should be some priorities for the citizenship by birth. In present day perspective domain of our politics is very narrow. For example, people will not understand how a person born in another country can hold portfolio of critical importance. In such case some descrimination shall be required for person of other origine otherwise there will be total chaos.

We are going into the era of Global Citizens. Think of all the Stephen Hawking, Bill Gates, Narayan Murthy, 'Jeh' Tata, APJ Kalam and their ilk and the contributions made by these individuals. Their contributions are far and wide reaching and inpact many worldwide, positively. Also with the current free movement of masses within the erstwhile 27 european countries (EU) perhaps these limited notion, that which defines and binds people to nation as we know now may perhaps not hold, much in the coming years ....
