College politics should be banned because it affects the college environment adversely. students indulge in various type of malpractices, and as its consequence there studies suffer. Politics at college campus promote crime in these institutions. Gulal the film is a good example that shows how college politics changes the life of a common student. As far as interference of political parties are concerned no one can stop their interference at college campus or any such places. And such political parties will pollute the environment of educational institutions.

Yes, College politics has to be banned. With my experience I would like to say that, In the name of politics and elections students get on to many illegal and corruptive activities like kidnapping the opposition party members, fights and collisions among students. Thus, it is better to stop this election kind of a process. If we are interested in developing the leadership activities of students, let the lecturers/ the college select a apt group of people for the designation of a student leader and his sub-ordinates. This group of students can work towards a specific goal in a etiquette manner. This itself develops and enriches the soft skills of students. For solving our problems and bringing up a LEADER we should not mess up with the clean & holy characteristics of a education institution.

i would love to say no, but than the politician of date does not allow the campus politics to remain clean, and the education, the primary objective suffers. most of the students find it difficult to strike a balance. and therefore colleges where there are restrictions have done better in achieving the primary objective.

College politics should not be banned. But political parties should not be allowed to interfere in the process or even their youth wing. In-fact it would be a nice idea to have a state level ombudsman to over see the elections of all recognized colleges. Politics is a no-no till higher secondary school is over.

To instill leadership qualities in the young minds, the politics were allowed in the campus. Political parties do have their student frontal organisations for grooming the leaders from among the student community. Too much of anything shall be avoided. A group of 10 to 15 students Osmania University instigated by a political party turned the campus as an agitational hub and dictated terms to the State Govt. for some time during the year 2010 and 2011. This kind of politics shall not be allowed.

Banning anything that has been in vogue for a long time only evokes more favour for all wrong reasons. Today the world has realised the need for leadership at school level and being closer to real world (employment)college needs to foster every means of leadership skills development. Many initiatives in the field of education works towards inculcating leadership skills in a child/youth. Everyone is talking about evolution (remedial) but what we really need is revolution in college politics and here are a few quick thoughts: (a) For a start DELINK COLLEGE ELECTIONS from POLITICS completely (b) BAN POLITICAL parties from CAMPUSES (c) Similar to electoral reforms in the mainstream politics spread better understanding of the needs and benefits of the students election process. Student unions/electoral process at college/university level is to bring about a positive change in the lives of students and not to help a select few to move to the mainstream politics. (Let me clarify, none of us are against anyone getting into mainstream politics at a very young age but the people should have a social entrepreneurial bent of mind before moving into this space) (d) Continuing from the previous point every student who wants to participate in the college electoral process should go through a hands-on social entrepreneurial exercise (something like a changemaker programme) I've many more points to share but would like to look at suggestions for reforms rather than advocating non-democratic approach by curbing a source of acquiring leadership skills.

Students should learn to face the problems and challenges of this current world. I think the college politics can teach them alot about this world. The college politics should be in a constructive way and it should not go beyond the limits. This will help students community to develop leadership quality and gives them confidence to face the outside world....

College politics is must but should be in a constructive way. This helps the students in building their leadership qualities. That might be a motivation to become a better leader of India.
