Yes! frankly he is not even a first choice wicketkeeper. Time to building for a new generation.

dhoni indeed has had his "KOOL" attitude applied to India's Glory..but not now..we indians hav 2 cum out of mentality of emotional attchment wid the players..they r athletes and r supposed 2 take india at gr8 heights..they shud b supported and encouraged wen they do so..BUT wen they fail to do they shud be chucked out the team regardless of their past laurels tht they hav brought to india..NO MATTER HOW GR8 THEY HAVE BEEN IN THE PAST..at present dhoni is just not fit to b in squad..he is rather seen in fields owing to his Position tat he holds in Indian Cricket Team..nothing else does he do..he's neither good wid bat nor does he excel in keeping..he is in the team squad jus for the sake of his Dignity..screw such emotions..Dhoni is talking about retirement in the middle of a series, has he ever wondered what kinds of effect will that have on his beleaguered side?..Questions and fingers are being pointed at the senior players, after the Australia Series..but on what ground does Dhoni’s captaincy stand? How is his defensive attitude playing its part on the team’s psychic?

There is no meaning blaming the captain always!! If given a chance, selectors are most responsible for identifying the team that performs in T20, the team combination had very less chances of winning the games with big shots, the selection was prejudice wherein the members were selected irrespective of their performances, fitness, and driving match towards winning position

lack of attitude and passion made them struggle in the championship. they should learn from australia and england(though only from this wc). england made it to semis after 18 long years!!! whenever aussies feel sidelined in a format their responce will b like this only. they r the real champions. on paper india look like one but on field no better than any normal sada seeda side.what can dhoni do if 5 of his main batsmen fail so consistently for 5 matches????2007 was the last time india won any major icc event. i wonder y india is ranked no 2 in odi's? when it even cant beat a third string australia???may b india would be asian champion if any of that sort happens. forget about world. now bcci will give india lots of matches against srilanka.like in last year to even lessen competitive ness in indian players.

Ya I think he should be sacked form the Indian captaincy due to his deteriorating performance as captain in the past few series excluding IPL. And secondly he should play for team and not his individual game. If you keep an eye he tries to remain not out in all the innings he plays and reduces the run rate and undermines the importance of the crucial matches like the one versus Sri Lanka. Another drawback about our players is that they dont know how to digest fame and name. A person should not forget his integrity even though he is on top of the world , I think they should take an example of Sachin Tendulkar who has been on the top of the for past 2 decades but still never lost his integrity and never had been in any conflicts. The third culprit being the IPL night parties where most of the Indian players had been untouched with the glamour world and suddenly they are dipped into the pot of hot glamour world with exotic scotch and wines and hot babes which has diverted their mind from cricket to the glamourous world and the T-20 world cup has brought out all the real level of the Indian cricketers. What i think is to improve the overall team performance selectors have to take tough decisions by dropping even senior players who are under performing and have a strategy as Australians have.

I dont think so but he needs some rest and a refresher course. I feel a youinger coach like Gary kirsten was able to vibe with him much better than Duncan Fletcher. Most of the successful nations today have younger coaches as in England and Sri Lanka who vibe with the players and captain. Dhoni certainly needs to be talked to by the coach or the chief selector.

This is a ridiculous to debate on. He is a great captain. It is easy to criticize some one. This shows the debility of thinking.

No Indian Captain was ever sacked for the failure in one series. He would be give a chance or two before any such drastic step is initiated.

By one tournament loss you can not make such a big decision. You have to remember the contribution he has given to the team by giving so many wins in different tournament in all formats of the game

this question is irrelevant , question should which player deserve place in team.M.S.Dhoni did a lot to indian cricket, failure in W.C.West Indies is due to poor performance by his fellow, and poor team selection by BCCI.

Definitely not! Cricket is just a sport and not a life and death matter. And there will be ups and downs. If you want t o sack, sack the guys in the government who do not do their jobs. And there are many of them!

Before answering YES to this question i guess each one of us should try n understand the structural framework of BCCI & Dhoni's complete KRA set. Only then rating him as a good or bad captain is possible. I agree that end justifies the means but we need to get into his shoes (hypothetically) first.

Here again, currently no one considers that he was the captain when India became No. 1 Test playing nation. This was not very long ago, isn't it? Also, he also was the captain when India's ODI ranking went up recently. About his captaincy - it was his captaincy that won the CSK the IPL, isn't it so? This was just a month ago. It is said that the greatest sickness man and mankind have is "Forgetfulness" .... Just ponder

Agreed Dhoni was at a loss of ideas--but captain alone cannot win/loose.All depts. failed--batting,bowling/fielding.The whole team was pathetic--no game plan,no execeution!! Everone has a bad time --so lets say Dhoni was not himself. He alongwith the coach need to go back to the drawing board!! Not in the distent past did Dhoni lead Chenni super to IPL victory. So guys--all is not lost.Only hope Dhoni still has the fire & hunger still in him.

Captain of a team means thankless job .. when you win you have to appreciate team members ... when you loose you have to alone bear the pressure ... DHONI is one of them. For what, this poor fallow should be punished.... he is not alone responsible for the cause ... people from BCCI and IPL committee and investors are more responsible for this, because they have not think about the nation and its image .... rather they were more involved in making money from human robots like Dhoni,,, Dhoni and other players also equally responsible ... they were more inclined towards sweetie money...

NO. There are ups and downs in any sport. That does not mean that he should be relieved of his captaincy. He is sure to bounce back. If there is constantly loosing a few (two or three) series then he should be removed. He is cool and so his style of captaining the team. If (current) form alone is a reason to relieve a person of captaincy, then it should have been done to many others who captained India before. If a person is consistently out of form then he could be relieved.

Why are we forever avoiding reason and logic. Dhoni should be sacked or not may be the most valid question yet why did we have to debate this after defeat? The same Dhoni would have been made into a hero if he had captured T-20. This approach blanks out any scope for above to ever get in place and at best should be avoided.

Why blame Dhoni. He and the other young team members are just victims of circumstances beyond their control. What has happened is nothing but the effects of the mis-adventures of BCCI and IPL lords. There is a limit the yougsters can be pushed. Though the team comprises of one of the best talents, allmost all of them were fully fatigued from continueous travel, play and and exposure to night parties without enough rest. The team never got an opportunity to play together against equally strong international teams before this ICC T20 WC. We have so many wonderful young guys in the team. The media is already doing great harm. Dear friends, please let us also not break their hearts with mindless comments. Rather let us join hands to console them. Please also see my dettailed comments on similar topics in other communities.

No one is perfecct in this world. As Mr. Narayan said there are lots of up down in evry person's career. So think positive and support our team. Although they should have work hard for T20 WC but due to IPL they could not, so here need to change schedule of their play not the captain
