There are very few companies across the world which actually have this kind of dual listing where people from one country can trade the stocks in another country where it has been listed, and this Dual listing is in news lately because the Bharti-MTN deal has been proposed for a dual listing. But then in India it is not allowed, as there are many complications and changes that one needs to make before this dual listing goes on the floor.

What do you  think guys should  Dual listing be allowed in India? What are your views on this.

According to me there will be a bit of complex changes that one needs to make if Dual listing has to be allowed, as currently it is not allowed in India, and many changes like existing companies act should be changed for that matter, and with dual listing the Currency of here and in the other market will be different so the Indian Rupee should be made convertible and RBI should make those changes, and there are many other little snags like these and in the case of Bharti-MTN deal there is no need of Dual listing but if they go through the dual listing then government permission is required for a board identical to that of in the foreign market. I Would also like to know what others think regarding dual listing.

I not have much knowledge on the issue but as per what Jyoti says.... i think it will be some time before it can be implemented in India. It cannot be done only for MTN but will have to applicable for all companies
