Search Engine or not... nobody can doctor a living persons profile and picture and distort it just because... How would we take it if someone distorted Mahatma Gandhi's picture??? This is not merely a moral issue it is an issue of the mental state of the person who has done it. It will reflect directly to the his origin, his motherland, his country and by being the representative of the country i would personall not look at that man and his country with respect. I can never guarantee that these people would in turn have any respect for you. It is serious and I really wish that Google would put a policy of monitoring the content that is being uploaded. Good debate Sumitra.

Technological advancements have paved way for promoting any stuff. The search engines have now become a threat for parents. Technology should now identify means to censor the contents that are uploaded and introduce methods to trace the source. Cyber Law to be made more decisive and universally enforceable.

i think its a big mistake by a giant like google. google atleast should filter those things from their website which is leading to any kind of distraction. its a big search engine, and so they should care of these things.

I fully support you. This is absolutely disgusting. Who ever had created this has a stinking mind. And above all the (great?) Google is encashing on it by publishing. Is this the way they contribute to the world. According to me no one have the right for doing such filthy things

as mr.amit have mentioned everything has dual aspects one would be good and socially acceptable another one would be social taboo and just mention of it would be enough to raise few eyebrows .now,it should be left to those who are at the receiving end that which aspect of it they want to associate themselves to,its purely discretionary.after all, stage should not be blamed for bad drama played on it.so,instead of asking google to be vigilant people should voice there opinion.

policing wont solve the issue. people by & large should voice their opinion against such things. that's the best way to stop it.

It is unfortunate thing that has happened to Michelle Obama. However, people who do this sort of stuff is quite aware that by the time google is being informed many millions would have already viewed and circulation of these information would be hitting on many sites especially forwarding mails. It may be impossible for google to police everything that goes on the site considering that this is a widely used search engine.

Google can delete the image from the search page. However, the more important thing is that there is no way to remove it from the Internet itself. Once you post something on the Internet, it is most likely replicated many times – either manually or automatically. We all have to remember that the Internet is a living and breathing entity. An attempt to censor or remove a piece of information from the internet backfires, causing the information to be more widely publicized than it would have if no censorship had been attempted. The Internet, like life, has few boundaries. The potential is enormous. However, as with life, there are consequences for each action.

I completely agree with what Mr. Amit has said here, it should be the user who should know what he wants when he is surfing the net, and not Google which gives you relevant content all the time, its the people who fiddle with keywords, and even in this case the blog which had this photo now would have driven traffic like thousands to it, but then this is what controversy does, it drives traffic, so it is obvious that people like controversies. So it is people who should police themselves and not Google.
