I have yet to encounter any green gadget but Green technology is the term used to describe things people are doing and steps that are being taken to help promote and provide a cleaner environment and preserve natural resources. Reducing waste on things like water and gas and recycling is a way you can help with the whole movement.

First, everybody needs to be sure whether the process to manufacture a "green" gadget is itself "green"! In many cases, its not!

You have to look at the Long Range Costs. Long Raange, Green will work out cheaper. Green does not necessarily mean new technologies. It can mean a new way of way of doing things with the existing gadgets only. Like in power, switching OFF unnecessary lights and fans. Like in your server room rearranging the ACs from room cooling to server hotspots cooling etc. Green gadgets are only a second stage. Let us optimally utilise existing gadgets first

Yes we should definitely promote green gadgets anyday.  It will not only reduce our carbon footprint but with more people supporting the cause can bring about a general mindset change in consumer base and will compel companies to produce green gadgets.  This in turn will motivate or rather urge the peer companies to manufacture the same and hence will bring in more competition.  This will kinda form a cycle and people will use and find out more innovative ways to go GREEN :-)..
