India's Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector is facing stiff competition from the likes of Mexico, Philippines, Malaysia, China, Canada and Ireland that are posing a grave threat to the growth of India's BPO sector reports ASSOCHAM press release.

India's BPO sector has risen phenomenally at the rate of 55 percent with a significant visible movement in mid and senior management levels, according to an industry specific analysis of the Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM).

But now that we face lack of educated workers and while people do not see BPO job as a career should the BPO sector worry?

Although, the BPO sector in India has been very popular since the beginning, as it has opened up plenty of job opportunities and has totted up huge revenue, but the awfully high attrition rate coupled with talent crisis has plagued the sector since the very beginning. If we want to save this sector and want it to retain its success soem crucial steps should be taken.

Very correctly said, Namrata. We should worry @ some extent due to lack of propely educated people, as people are attracted towards BPO due to the money they are going to get by doing BPO job. Thanks for referral, Namrata.

The Philippines has become the business process outsourcing (BPO) capital of the world, overtaking India as the number one player in the global business outsourcing market. Several factors, like a well-educated workforce, good language competencies and work ethic, have made the Philippines an attractive BPO destination.

Attrition rate is major issue with BPO, KPO & IT sector at present scenario. But it doesn't mean that it is very big issue for Industry. We have lot of fresh talent in country who will support the Industry..
