IT certification programmes are important for those who dream of a beautiful career in the tech. world. These programmes help in enhancing the knowledge & skill sets of individuals & enables them to prove themselves in the industry....

Today, in our country these programmes are generally given by institutions who are specialized in this area & rarely in schools & colleges & that too when schools & colleges have tie-ups with these institutions.

So, should schools & colleges deliver these certification programmes on their own rather than running behind other institutes??

yes I support that the It certification program introduced in the college it self .

because by doing this the student get more knowledge about the language and the real time used framework . They also come with more interest and the competition is also come inside  them although they have to face this things when they are in the companies so its very nice to start form here

Basically I would say that certification should not be a part of the IT Curriculum. Already the kids are under a lot of pressure to get through their regular examinations and to top it, if we want them to get certified in various programmes then it would be an overhead, which should be avoided.

Instead of certification, rebuild the curriculum each year so that it reflects what the industry actually needs. Students require guidance on what it is that will be required from them once they go out into the world of IT. They do not need to carry certificates which proclaim that they have completed X, Y, Z language course or something in similar lines, but what they do need is a better way in which they can handle real life situations when they join a certain Organization. Groom them to accept that they need to be good in logical reasoning and analyse an issue before jumping to conclusions. Also, they should be ready to dirty their hands with quick code and later refine the same so that it is maintainable for the people who follow them to use that code. Proper documentation and explanation of any change they do or any code they write is an essential part of the training which should be imparted to them.

I do agree with the statement.

World is becoming tech-savvy and sustainability may be a question without technical know-how. No business and environment is without computer aid these days. so it would be a better idea to offer specific certifications based upon domains of interests.

Yes I do agree with it that IT certification should be introduced in the colleges because after completion of a particular degree or a course one need not to go some for such certification as it saves time and money

Yes surely.. But the academic curriculam guidelines and other supports must be done in collaboration with the top level IT organisations. It surely will be successful if the students are trained as per organisation's requirements.

Yes,introducing the IT certification programs is helpful to the students before they get a job in a good organization.they can learn or adopt the IT supported methodologies in their colleges itself instead of going somewhere to learn that type IT certifications.

I think in todays global centric world, there is a need of some standard criteria against which a person can gauge himself/herself. This calls for replacing atleast the programming and basic IT exams by certifications like Sun Java or MS Sharepoint. This serves the dual purpose of grading a student as well as making the resume credible at an international level irrespective of the college or University the student belongs to.

To help you succeed in today's competitive job market, whether you are looking for new opportunities or advancing in your current position, you need to build and demonstrate your technology expertise and skills.

When evaluating new candidates or considering the competencies of existing staff, many employers recognize the value of a Microsoft Certification. These certifications are designed to provide the recognition you need to help you excel in your career and provide employers with validation of your skills.

I think schools & colleges should start providing these certification programmes. They should stop running behind other institutes & compromising with their conditions. It is better if schools & colleges provide these courses to students as it will be affordable by students & colleges will produce better employees for the industry.

As if IT is the only subject which requires attention even from the College level ?

That may not be the case ..  ! There are plenty of subjects which may attract the students and they may be encouraged all / any field which they think attractable.

Our country is on "growth path" and we require brilliant students in all fields.

NO, introducing the certification programmes in colleges would not help the students learn about the real life challenges/problems. Certifications should be earned after facing the real time problems.

The story will be same like as 3 Idiot. The person who have "Rattu" capability can easily qualify rather than based on talent. So getting certification by this way does not make sense.

The whole idea of certification is not merely to obtain a knowledge on a piece of paper.

Certification provided by specialized institute or rather IT cos Training arm make utmost sense. Firstly the Idea to certify goes beyond theory and dwells on basic notion of industry experience,  which is carefully hosted by the institute or the professional bodies.

The implicit knowledge shared and delivered by these experts stand in good stead in carrier of a young professional.

To me the whole idea is naive about certification given by Institute.

Students are already loaded with lot of subjects to read in their course, upon that if we introduce certifications , its going to be over burden and chances are they might get nowhere, instead prepare them with the fundemental knowledge required in connection with the certification which enhances them to take up certifications once they are out of college

One should understand the functionality of colleges rather than asking them for advanced study topics. The main function of college is to give the core information about the programming concepts. The programming languages are tools to do programming. If someone learns java does't means to understood programming principles. Programming principles are universal and once you apply them to any programming tool ( C++, Java , C#,..) , you start programming. Certifications on the other hand gives us a command on particular tool. Also without any experience in programming, the certification is just other type of mugging. So the basic goal of certification is defeated. In fact, the current structure allows students to learn programming principles and apply them to clear any certification exam with some extra effort.
