I do agree with the statement. World is becoming tech-savvy and sustainability may be a question without technical know-how. No business and environment is without computer aid these days. so it would be a better idea to offer specific certifications based upon domains of interests.

Yes I do agree with it that IT certification should be introduced in the colleges because after completion of a particular degree or a course one need not to go some for such certification as it saves time and money

Yes surely.. But the academic curriculam guidelines and other supports must be done in collaboration with the top level IT organisations. It surely will be successful if the students are trained as per organisation's requirements.

Yes,introducing the IT certification programs is helpful to the students before they get a job in a good organization.they can learn or adopt the IT supported methodologies in their colleges itself instead of going somewhere to learn that type IT certifications.

Yes certification in college itself saves more time, Usually after college we should spend more time to get certified in IT or any type of courses it takes lot of additional time to students who want to start their professional carrer..

As the university curriculum signifies in jst grasping of subjects and not at all nourishing of mind that needs to be when a student graduates....its ofcourse a better thing to introduce certification programmes

I think in todays global centric world, there is a need of some standard criteria against which a person can gauge himself/herself. This calls for replacing atleast the programming and basic IT exams by certifications like Sun Java or MS Sharepoint. This serves the dual purpose of grading a student as well as making the resume credible at an international level irrespective of the college or University the student belongs to.

To help you succeed in today's competitive job market, whether you are looking for new opportunities or advancing in your current position, you need to build and demonstrate your technology expertise and skills. When evaluating new candidates or considering the competencies of existing staff, many employers recognize the value of a Microsoft Certification. These certifications are designed to provide the recognition you need to help you excel in your career and provide employers with validation of your skills.

I vote in favour of this idea, in this way collage will benefit students in higher prespective. As all these professional courses have much more significance in the market compare to minor and major projects.

I think schools & colleges should start providing these certification programmes. They should stop running behind other institutes & compromising with their conditions. It is better if schools & colleges provide these courses to students as it will be affordable by students & colleges will produce better employees for the industry.

NO, introducing the certification programmes in colleges would not help the students learn about the real life challenges/problems. Certifications should be earned after facing the real time problems.

The whole idea of certification is not merely to obtain a knowledge on a piece of paper. Certification provided by specialized institute or rather IT cos Training arm make utmost sense. Firstly the Idea to certify goes beyond theory and dwells on basic notion of industry experience, which is carefully hosted by the institute or the professional bodies. The implicit knowledge shared and delivered by these experts stand in good stead in carrier of a young professional. To me the whole idea is naive about certification given by Institute.

Students are already loaded with lot of subjects to read in their course, upon that if we introduce certifications , its going to be over burden and chances are they might get nowhere, instead prepare them with the fundemental knowledge required in connection with the certification which enhances them to take up certifications once they are out of college

One should understand the functionality of colleges rather than asking them for advanced study topics. The main function of college is to give the core information about the programming concepts. The programming languages are tools to do programming. If someone learns java does't means to understood programming principles. Programming principles are universal and once you apply them to any programming tool ( C++, Java , C#,..) , you start programming. Certifications on the other hand gives us a command on particular tool. Also without any experience in programming, the certification is just other type of mugging. So the basic goal of certification is defeated. In fact, the current structure allows students to learn programming principles and apply them to clear any certification exam with some extra effort.
