The Indian IT Industry has termed the recent hike in H1-B and L1 visa fee as highly discriminatory and said that if the US will continue with its discriminatory policies against Indian IT firms, they will move on to new markets.

Can't there be an alternate solution for this. Should IT co's eye other markets if US keeps unfair rules?

I think Indian co's should go for other markets if US is not giving them a favourable market to do business, and yes there will be some sort of affect on Indian companies, but that will not hamper the growth of the Indian IT co's there are many other countries which still do outsourcing in the right way and not like US which wants to control things as and when they want.

Reliance on only one market is always dangerous.  The market horizons have to be developed.  When we have the ability to serve every market needs, why should we confine to USA.

THE OLD SAYING IS PUTTING IN TOO MANY EGGS IN ONE BASKET IS RISKY.LET US EXPLORE VARIOUS OTHER AVENUES INSTEAD OF DEPENDING UPON US ALONE.

No matter whatever policy decisions the US may take, their supremacy in future is dependent upon the support and guidance from India and China, alone. Therefore, they are bound to reverse the decision, after a while. India, alternatively, should also shift its focus towards Europe and other continents.

I accept this views posted by Mr.Ramesh Kandadai. The US plays always the double game to suit its need and will not bother about others. The US is following the CARROT and STICK method.

YES!

THE USA has become arrogant in its handling of the one country that has provided continuous intellectual power to it. Yes, the visa issues must be tackled but this is not the way. Now, the employers who are going to send the employees will deduct the amount from the moneys paid to the employee. If it is a matter of sending a skilled person to the US at the request of a US based client, the client's bill just went up because these costs will get included. Slowly people will opt out of going to the US.

If there was one confirmed stupid move that could be made to control the US VIsa situation, the US govt has manged to discover and do it!!!!!

Yes We should look at other areas. There are better options available in other sun-rise markets elsewhere in the world.

Yes Ravali, We should lookout & develop  markets other than US. Though the Business Community in US support & prefer India for out sourceing Business, since it is benefitting them cost wise. US Govt Administration is under treamendous pressure to curb out sourceing business/ work to India.

Indian IT companies should write & develop their own software rather than indulging in Body Shopping activities by pushing the cheap labour(IT staff).

Yes Ravali, we should lookout & explore other markets apart from U.S. Even though the US Business Community will support & look towards India for out sourceing for the Business Reasons(cost wise), Politically the US Administration is under treamondus pressure to curb this activity to some extent, atleast.

Indian IT companies must concentrate much more on writing & developing our own software for US projects rather than just Boddy Shopping of our work force for cheap labour.

I really appreciate your thinking about the making or taking advantage from other market than US. US has made certain new rules that the person whose annual package is more than 11Lakh can go to us for work.. they firstly started Globalization then they are making such rubbish rule for to secure there unemployment.

Yes. India shouldn't loose its Self esteem.  Indian employees are far better (as well as cheaper) than the employees of other countries. Indians are not dependent on the US market. Rather, India and US both are INTER-DEPENDENT. So, why we should tolerate their unfair rules.  It's not easy to get other market like US in quick time. But we should believe in our potential, and regularly seekfor the other choices.

However it is not easy to grab the new markets. But Indian IT major 'ld grab other markets if US continue keeps its unfair rules. But for other small groups we have to wait and watch for further steps taken by U.S.

In a free market economy, controls can inhibit growth. If a specific market is not fully capable of supporting different business practices, organizations should be able to explore various other markets in order to enhance their growth.....

Depending on one market is not sane, Indian IT Cos should explore the other country markets for business.  Depending on US alone has shown the ripples of IT slump in that country to us also in the form of retrenchment, reduction of pays and what not.  It is high time that IT Cos expand their market in other countries also

It is not always better to depend only on one country.  Explore other countries as you suggested.. Growth will follow though there will be some hiccups initially

We should not be moved by any american declarations, india is a country which can be self dependent. That is the thing which is worrying Americans or other developed countries much more.

Innovative solutions and no work should be outsourced from India to other countries. Which in itself will be  more than enough for us.

And capturing other markets, that should have been done much before.

People just don't jump to conclusions here, if India was in US position even they would have done the same, they are first protecting their interests and then thinking about others which is fair enough but to what extent they are doing this matters, just by hiking the visa fees is not a big problem at all, remember we are getting billions of dollars and also thousands of jobs from outsourcing and we cant just stop relying on them, many people's livelihood is at stake here. And US is the major and big market for us we cant chase new market which is a difficult thing at the moment, even europe is under crisis. So, we need to think twice before acting on this issue and not  jump to conclusions.
