Google’s Eric Schmidt closed up this busy Tuesday with the last keynote of the day at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and he did it by sharing some very positive (but also quite vague) thoughts, some stats and a new video-editing application, created specifically for Honeycomb-based tablets.  As for the recent partnership of Microsoft and Nokia, Schmidt said that Google “certainly tried” to convince Nokia to make the switch to Android. It seems that Microsoft was more convincing this time around.

So, what do you think people Should Nokia switch to Android than partnering with Microsoft?

Android is the fastest growing mobile platform in the world, also Google’s goals of making information more accessible to everyone, helping us do everyday tasks better and spend more time with the people we love. Android is everywhere today most of the mobile phone supports android than anybody else, even iphone is left out here....and Nokia partnering with Microsoft which has failed badly with their windows 7 smartphone, and symbian software not any good for Nokia.  Hence Nokia are better off with Android than with Microsoft...

what i feel is that..its not abt android or windows!!! its abt NOKIA!!!Nokia has always been unique....!!!!so to remain as it is,and to recover its status!!!!it has to go with the windows platform....and show that  its still unique!!!and tempt all the android users to switch to NOKIA;)!!!! Me being an android user(once a nokia fan) ...will suggest nokia to remain with its decision!!!  am sure they will do great ultimately!!!

nokia either adopt android tech. or redefine it's o.s to be in market........microsoft is not a good option for it, it can make better .android is good but not best , it's depends on hardware parts, like it processor which make it arise..

Then if NOKIA has always been unique, then why should it even partner with Microsoft when it has its own OS (Symbian). NOKIA should should then start developing a version of its OS which can fight its rivals by having above edge competetiveness.

If Nokia wants to dominate in the market, then it has to make agreement with Google rather to Microsoft, as Android is open-source so better quality softwares are available which are created by very talented developers of this global world.

I'd say Nokia should do both, getting the most of both worlds. I'd really like a gadget that I can buy in either versions. Then users would get a great to compare and choose the best. This ensures a healthy competition too. :-)

Personally I feel to stay comfortably alive in the competition, Nokia should have gone with the Android, but then the competition would become very one sided with no takers for MS' Windows Phone 7.

For the sake of competition, Nokia did the right thing to partner MS and such partnerships would seriously heat up the competition and keep the consumers guessing till they actually review the next smartphone from Nokia. They are yet to come up with their own Tablet and such partnerships would certainly spice up the whole tablet market as well.

Nokia has always come up with a few surprises and its not going be a boring season this year as well.

Only time will tell who is ahead in the tech race. But according to me Nokia should use a smarter route by selling phones in both the platforms.
