Being too much of a perfectionist is also a problem. Take the middle line and dont worry too much. You have to certainly be aware of your strengths and weakness' but there is no need to brood on it. No one was made perfect in any living being for that matter.

Instead of critical (which implies the negative), let us call it self-introspection. 1. Review our actions, 2. note the positives and negatives, 3. review what went right and what went wrong, 4. think what can be done in future to avoid the wrongs.

a good topic to ponder. The rule of the land is like the flow of water that takes an easy path and does strain much climbing a gradients. so are we.Hence the path to success does have impediments and one cannot be all the time worried about himself or herself as what is wrong in ourselves. may be something might have gone wrong in our pursuit for success. There are various factors that govern our success which may be external and internal factors. more so the environment is what dictating terms with our success. Hence even in failure we have to look positive and see how much one can correct and get a success within the uncertainties present. Therefore even if we doa lot of calculated planning and training ourselves to be really positive and remove all our weaknesses yet the environment will rule the success factor. so we should not get too much worried about the competition.it will be there. Some will get selected and some will not. lot of factors that are not directly involved are also acting as dictating parameters more than what we think we are.

Thanks Dipika for initiating yet another good topic, need of the hour! Each individual is unique! While it is necessary to accommodate others' views and lifestyles, we should not lose sight of one's own individuality. We have grown over a period assimilating information right from childhood, at times, some information stored may become redundant, not all. What one should do is to re-visit such stored information, try to do little extrapolation to see the fundamental information helps finding a solution in the present environment or not. A little tilt from our mundane approach will do miracle! Too much of introspection of self will force one to be critical of oneself which results in emulating others, thereby, losing one's individuality!

Actually Dipika i am with you on this we all are born with our own special qualities and traits but ofcourse some introspection needs to be undertaken from time to time to help us motivate and improve ouselves on all fronts ,how often do we feel less worthy because we see someone excel in aparticular field ,i used to consider myself all rounder till i had to participate in sports and i felt ashamed of doing so because i knew this was one area which i had not mastered or even tried to do well at but at one point i said to myself aw cmon just enjoy you are not here to win trophies and believe me thoroughly enjoyed so yeah i do believe in the fact that perfection is not always the best after all moon is more alluring due to dark spots on it ,even nature supports this topography varies climate varies conditions vary sowehere there is more somewhere there is less than why run behind perfection and disrespect what we have been given or aqquired

I wonder, how I miss this beautiful topic. Thanks Dipikaji for bringing this topic to debate. It is a requirement in deed. Questioning you about your own actions and decisions, keeps you away from committing mistakes. At the same time, this process should not become a hurdle to the process of self progression, one must be cautious enough. Â Being critical need not be negative always.

It is necessary to be critical of oneself and to seek oppurtunities for improving ourselves. This does not mean that we should be overtly critical to the extent that it paralayses us from doing any action. The quest for improvement is the quest for life itself and without this quest the civilization would come to a standstill situation. Self introspection is the path defined in our religions to attain moksha. So being self critical is a virtue. Being perfect is good virtue and who would want a car which is not 100% safe. There is no compromise to perfection in certain life but with people and one self we should be able to accommodate some imperfection.

self introspection is more important. The concept of WHO AM I BY BHAGWAN SHRI RAMANAMAHARISHI TAUGHT US TO KNOW SELF.
