After all the drama that is unfolding in Karnataka Government, where the Governor is now asking to take the test once again, but in the mean time, he has also told the president of India to take care of things by asking for a Presidents Rule in Karnataka for the time being, and if that happens, then democracy has failed and Politicians are taking the people of karnataka granted, where ugly phase of politics is unfolding at the moment, it is like an all time low for Indian politics, where money is ruling over everything....

Should President's Rule be imposed in Karnataka??

There is total chaos there at the moment, I think it has got to do with the CM's inability to handle things properly, the matter should not have been escalated like this, they should have dabbed it before getting it out of control like this, now it all looks like a big joke out there, and issues like this fails to create a strong impression of Democracy in India of which these politicians hail it like anything, infact there is no strong leadership in Karnataka after SM Krishna finished his term where he took Bangalore to all the next level and made the city's mark at the global level, after that its all been chaos there, with coalition governments taking shape time and again, even now its the same, I don't know how people of that state are reacting for this...but in next elections they should clearly vote for single party and not like this where there is no clear result to form a government....but at the moment President's rule should happen, if not we will be see even worse in the coming days....

No, there should be no President's rule, if that happens then the Democracy has failed in the place, also the ugly fight for power should stop, why all of a sudden all these 20 MLA's decided to leave BJP, its bad politics game being played by other parties in the state, it should be like during elections a clear majority should be there and a rightful party forms the government and not fighting it out like this, and there should be no President's rule according to me. It's high time that PM intervenes here and does something, also all BJP members should get their acts right.

I feel President's rule for a while will bring things to a better shape than they're currently in. Talking about democracy, it already failed in Karnataka as the govt is dissolved. Another coalition govt will fall apart in no time. Prez rule for a while might get people back to basics.

In fighting within the ruling party, and lack of clear leadership has brought the entire administrative machinery to a stand still. So President's rule is the only alternative

Dear Amrita,

There is an elected Government with majority support of a single part vs a collection of destabilising elements from various parties. Even if this Government disturbed there is absolutely no hope for the destabilitisers to form agovernment.

As for SM Krishna statement, his party clearly failed in getting majority is this without his contribution?

As for Indecision, There are many happening right at center, what would you suggest?

No... The Assembly must be dissolved forthwith... Fresh elections to be held within the next 3 months... This is the only way to save democracy and stop horse trading...

I agree with you Neelima, any elected government should allowed to be function Normally to the full term & should not be disturbed by President Rule, unless the govt. collapse on its own.

Here in Karnataka the scenario is different. The most corrupt parties like Congress & JDS is playing a money game in order to bring down the present government. It is a right thing to disqualify the MLA's who has defected in between.  Here both these parties has acted in a haste, & insist that these MLA's can be disqualified after  voting.

Anti-defection Law has to be enacted so that these croon's does not play spoilt politics & make mockery of Democracy.  The time has come that people should revolt against such Money & Muscle Politics. By acting in such haste, the Governor has brought a sense of shame to the Central Govt & Congress Party, which could not win a single seat in recently held  Assembly By-Election in Karnataka.

It was very clear that when the present Governor was appointed to Karnataka with a motive to act against the elected govt. & help the JDS-CONG. parties to come to power by back door entry, by adopting un-democratic means.

BJP leadership take note of these developments & stop internal fighting in Karnataka BJP and ensure a proper Leadership in the State, so that, they can concentrate on development work.

No need for imposing article 356.very common political situation which may happen in any state or even in center.worrying thing is the attitude of Governor who is very much interested in imposing prez.rule.all political parties should at least have a simple common sense to know for what purpose they have been elected rather than striving for might.dissident MLA's from BJP shows there real colours and i feel speakers decision on their disqualification is correct.

No. Not at all required.  The ambitious leaders within BJP and JD(U) are making the things worse.  It seems  the Raj Bhavan, Karnataka is putting its fingers in.  Yadyurappa, the CM is humble but not that efficient to handle these nonsense.  A strong leadership who can go offensively against these nonsense creators is required.

I support your views, Neelima. But I don't think that this BJP Govt will last long due to their internal politics.

It is purely depend upon the decision of President to do the neutral judgment.
