From what I have read about him he should be given a chance. He is not too young. The prsesident of my country was given that position at age 35 despite all the critics. Now 10 years later he is still the president after successfully winning 2 elections.

I support your argument of including Mr. Rahul Gandhi in the cabinet. There are 2 reasons for this: A. He is educated and young then many others in politics. He can be given a ministry like the Human Resources, women welfare, etc. B. Congress is progecting him as the future PM, if he is given a cabinet, we will be able to see his skills as a leader in the government, also it must not be made easy for him by directly being the PM.

Yes he should be.He is well educated, exposed to politics from childhood and sounds mature for his age. When the parties are fighting for cabinet positions and wrangling by the minute for peach portfolios, he is saying, I will wait.He has proven himself by capable campaigning too.He should be given whenever he is ready to take it.

I totally agree with ajay's comment when some criminals are given minsterial posts why not Rahul... He was close to consideration for being the Next PM and now we are discussing whether he should be given minister position or not, Yes he should be given a prominent post as he is very young and the political scenario should change, with him there will be many youngsters who will be entering politics in the next elections, and according to me the by the next time he will be the successor to Dr.Manmohan singh...

Hi Dayanand ji, After election results, major excitement is over and these are now "not so major" issues. My answer is "YES AND NO". But no option is provided for these answers. Looking at the whole lot of old generation, which will vanish from political horizon in next 5 years, (Dr.MMS, Pranab etc...), these 5 years are a good time & opportunity to groom new generation (Rahul, Jyotiraditya, Sachin Pilot etc...) into candidates for PM's as well as important portfolios. From these lot, the most eligible and popular leader may emerge as Prime Minister candidate. But Rahul should not be forced for any position in ministry against will & thrust upon country. If talent is there, it will show.

I don't see what the fuss is all about. If we accept criminals taking up ministrial posts; then why would anybody have an issue with him accepting a responsibile postion?

He has a focussed agenda. Whenever people met him earlier, he used to invite them to do something for amethi. If I remember correctly, there was a time when ITI Bangalore was neglected but the other unit of ITI in his constituency was nurtured. Ofcourse both units are almost defunct now. Now he has declared that his focus is Uttar Pradesh. I am sure he would do a good job. Isn't it in the nation's interest that he has a broader area to focus on. It is one thing to have ideas but no power. It is another thing to have power but no ideas. But it is best where there is power and inclination to implement ideas. He should join cabinet with a good portfolio

I will support him. As he is only 39 years old. He is the general secretary of congress and he is the future PM of India. From this time he should have given chance to understand the politics and work load there.
I want to see him in the cabinet.

If Rahul is eligable for cabinet or not this we can leave on him only. But yaa...this is not the right time for Rahul to be PM or to join cabinet. He should take his own time to, these coming 5 yrs for congress, Rahul should see that the Ministers are properly doing there work, He could play a role of administrator but in favour of India, not for any community, caste, religion etc. And if he could do this then next elections no one can stop him to be PM...

He should concentrate in bulding the organization and also streemlining the system in place. Most of the machineries are either corrupt or inneficient. It is not necessary to be in the cabinet at this age for Rahul Gandhi, and congress is his own family business. So it is the right tme to be a king maker and continue to learn the art of rule, which will help him in person also the country and congress.

I dont see him eligible to be in cabinet. India is a democracy not a monarchy or kingdom. So called youth force he has is a group of sons and daughters or ex-leaders. There is not even a single person from general public working in main line of that young froce.
