world cup is not the measure for his fitness.. He will play as long he is in fitness. He is playing well and he will show his best in future too.

Statstics suggest that he must and should retire but also keep associated with cricket and Team India for his valuable suggestions and guidance... Other talents should too get chance to prove their talent who remain deprived of proving themselves

Ayan I am in full agreement with you but Sachin will probably not do so. as per as he is concerned he has become Vishma of Mahabharat so I think he will carry on and on.

Supporting in this side seems something unusual , however i do feel its the right time for our MASTER-BLASTER to give up his place. I feel though he adds glamour to the game people are missing the kinda entertainment once showered by him.Why not a newcomer bring back all those pictures once gain.

I am no great fan of Sachin, though he is a great player India should feel proud of.The decision of retirement should be left on his will and wish. The later one is going to be realized. India will win the "world cup". My prediction is based on the performance against Pakistan when the team played as a strong unit, particularly the bowling side.

May be you are right Mr. Manoj...but this piece of news is already doing the rounds and thought of putting it for Toostep members to see what they really think abt his retirement...I agree with you that Sachin should be the one thinking abt his retirement and not us, but as his ardent fans they want to see him go off on a high note than later when things are not going according to his plans...that was the only concern by me creating this debate nothing more than that Mr. Manoj

I think Sachin should really play for next 2 years..ofcourse, this was the last worldcup for him, but may be not last match..he can play for india for 1 or 2 more years . age doesn't matter at 37..Sanath jayasurya played till 41 & clive lyod played till 44.. sachin is far better than both of them..so he should play & retire when he wants as india won't get players like this often...

In fact whether he will retire or not is the issue. We have to learn from his dedication and commitment towards his goals in spite of all the obstacles he has tide over. I think since he is in full swing as his new bat it is difficult to take that decision because it is a great"Nasha"(Addiction) to win more and more.."E DIL MANGE MORE"

In my opinion, Sachin should not retire after World Cup... The World Cup is the dream for Sachin that doesnt mean that after world cup Sachin will be retired... I think 37 is not a high age... Sachin is such a dedicated person will not decide to take retirement after world cup.. And most of the Indians also dont want to let him to take the retirement which mean that still most of the people in the world wants to see the play of Sachin... Everybody knows Sachin is GOD of the Cricket.. So, from that we can understand God will not take retirement until he fulfills his own dreams and the dreams of the people....

It all depends upon him. Through out his playing career we have put much pressure on him to win single handedly. At least now this imp decision should be left to him alone irrespective of whether we lose or win. We need to respect his privacy. Thats the least we can do to recognise the genius of such a great man.

I really dnt think 37 is much bigger. He should play. Sachin is the God of the game cricket. Dont think that he should retire so early. Let the India with this world cup and let sachin decide himself. The audiance want to see him in cricket field as much as he can go longer.
