Amit they trained you b'cause they want to earn money from you. that is why they make 2 or 3 year bond with freshers. does they not benefited by your work . pay less if fresher has no knowledge gave him less salary after his training but pay them. then only fresher will get encouragement to learn. My friend there is value for every work whatever may be it.

i am also agree with this point that fresher should get salary even if they are working as trainee.most of the compines don't give proper incentive to the fresher even in the teaching profession some school/colleges also not give proper salary to their teachers.

No they shouldn't. It is unethical and inhuman of companies to even expect someone work without their due And of student's view: please don't do it, it shows lack of confidence and simply gives an opportunity to employers to exploit u. If any company says freshers need time to prove and hence they don't deserve money...then let those companies manufacture a generation of experienced employees from heavenly aura.

Working or not working in the company which is not paying anything depends on the candidate as what is he/she visualizing in future and where they will stand after completing their training period. But the company should pay at least stipends if the salary is not in their HR policy for new fresh joiners. Paying the stipend motivates the candidate to give more effort then they can actual do and will not let them search for new opportunities initially after joining the company. By paying few amounts the company can take lots of benefits from new brains and the candidate will also feel secured such as they have joined a good company who take care of their employees.

No,students should not work in a company without getting, Because there are a lot of small companies in the NCR region which recruits the students without paying any thing and fired them when they ask for money and goes to recruit further more students this is my personal experience, these are not average or below average students they are the topper of colleges.

No, a student shouldn't work in a company without getting paid. Suppose i'm a student and i have completed my studies it means now i'm eligible to do work and companies selects us after a tough round of interviews, they measure us and then only they select us and if company has selected us after these all then it should pay us also because we are giving our time and knowledge to company. Its okk that we are working as a trainee but we deserve stipend too. I dont think that a trainee is worthless for a company.

No, the new joiner should eligible for stipend. The Company should conduct some exams related to training which the candidate attended, if the person is qualified then the person should eligible for what package the company offered to the candidate.

it entirely depends upon the situation in which the person is at that time. If the company is good and the person can get a excellent learning in the training then it is worth working w/o salary. he can then use that experience for future jump

Getting Salary is the basic expectation from any job. In serious training, the employee toils day and night to finish the expected job at training, and he deserves the pay.

I think students should not work. Because all the companies choosing the right candidates to work in their organization or in their company. So the selected candidate is having the enough capability to do the work there. Only thing is he needs to understand the nature of the work. For this reason students(freshers) need the training with duration of 1 or 2 months. So students should not work without salary.

Of course why not, when he/she is a fresher then it becomes a high-time for him/her to show the talent, it would be great advantage for a candidate if he/she gets such a chance. What matters here is talent not money. If you have talent then you will automatically be paid for the skill what you have, then why do you worry for money?
In a simple language, MORE KNOWLEDGE MORE MONEY, LESS KNOWLEDGE NO MONEY.

As a fresher, ur vision must be to learn more and more starting from small companies, where you exlpore more and get more things to learn. So, may be if u r in training for couple of months, its fine where u work with out money and later you must get stipend or salary!! even u must survive right, get new jeans!! :-). But dnt think of money, think of learning more and more!!

When we say "Students" & "Training" it is understood that someone is "Teaching" or "Training". It is a part of the education process. There was a term known as "Apprenticeship", rarely used these days, where a trainee would have to work his butt off for a measly stipend. The process ensured that he/she would thoroughly learn every aspect of his job..... or leave the profession. There was a sense of pride at the end of this apprenticeship, unlike today where even a B.A. graduated in English requires services of a "Consultant" to fill up a Visa Application form or a B.E Civil graduate requires guidance to calculate the hypotenuse of a triangle.... .... and expects a salary too!

Gaurav, Seems you want to say that it is wrong when happens a TOPPER, but it is ok if it happens with a average or below average guy. Their is no correlation between being an topper in class and being an performer at work place, Everybody got its niche, one may showcase it in class and one may showcase it in office. Its always better not to think about marks/ranks when you enter in professional career. It is my advice, it will help you in your career.

I have been working in technology based company from last 5 years, and i have seen that most of times when a trainee comes into the team, he needs lots of time, guidance, and support from the team. At time people cross the limits to help them just because we all have seen that time and want from the core of heart to help them grow. I honestly feel that a raw trainee is of no use to any organization unless it invests its resources on that trainee, hence from organization point of view allowing a trainee to enter into the premises is a COST, at the same time trainees do not have any commitments toward organization and can not contribute to critical activities too. Hence i would like to ask all the students what independent value addition they can do to organization for which they should be paid? More or less its an ethical issue, organizations have no legal binding to provide training and in todays cut throat competition students pay for getting class room training, in such a scenario if someone giving you training for free, you should feel lucky to get that chance. I think no Trainee should say that "I need money" instead they can put forward their case by saying "if you can pay me it would be good for me".

Several factors should be taken into consideration, first you should ask yourself where do you stand, and what are the areas that you need to work the most. If working for some company for free would make me better, in the field where I am not good at or have no idea about, I would work for free. Once you are skilled and have knowledge you can dictate your terms :) . don't and please don't work whether for free or being highly paid if you are not getting to learn as it would harm you, more than help you in long run. Have Fun!

Yes, i am also a student and if get the placement and if the company says that you are on 6month training and we'll not give you any salary or stipend then also i do that because in today if you go to any multinational company for training or any small it company they charge you for the training. But generally all the companies provides stipend.

Students generally get a stipend for working as a trainee. However, the core aim at this point in time is to gain experience, industrial exposure and industry knowledge. Salary aspects are a secondary focus. Thus, if a stipend is not available, but the opportunity is available, the student should not hesitate to work without a stipend. The available opportunity provides a very useful and effective means for the student to build his skills for the future....

Our students coming out of the educational institutions are not trained to take up a job and execute with out guidance. Due to the low budget of the companies they may be not able to pay the trainees. This period should be considered as an internship and should utilise opportunity to get work experience.

Objective of training is to learn corporate environment, and develop skills which would help them in long term. It is up to the organization to decide that if they can pay to trainee or not. In any ways when a company takes a trainee, some cost is already associated with him, seating space, hardware, software, and manual resources, hence a trainee should focus more on learning and not on earning.
