Surgeries should be videographed for the benefit of the doctors. In fact, now a days several docs have started this practice for themselves and also for patient's attendants to watch how surgeries are performed and where they can improve. It is indeed a very good idea.

ya of course it should be videographed because docs in future wiil try to get more knowledge and expertise of good surgeries and the mediocrity in medical science will eventually wipe out for the betterment of mankind. Also then the real examiners of good surgeries will not be surgeons and scientists but the public themselves where the question of mistake wont arise!!

In my openion there are lot of malpractices in the medical world the common people are totally unaware what is happeing inside the operation theatre, if anything happened wrong in the hands of the dr. they will naturally hide from the patiants so in my oenion it should be videographed

Yes, It should coz due to videographed misunderstanding between doc & relatives make easy & clear the picture in front of patient & relatives about actual surgery. It is very useful at the time of bill payment in INDIA where relative first think about cost therapy.

yeah offcourse it will be fruitful for patient as well as for medical students but it should not always be used as a weapon for doctors because doctors deal with human bodies not machine which are thousand times more complicated than machine and chances of errors are there during performing surgeries even by skilled hands

THANKS ANITA WORTHWHILE DEBATE -- IT IS SAID SEEING IS BELIEVING. IN THE ERA OF LEGAL AWARENESS AND PATIENT BECOMING MORE AWARE OF HIS OR HER RIGHT TO INFORMATION. IT IS NECESSARY TO HAVE ALL MAJOR CARDIAC,ORTHOPAEDIC, GYNAECOLOGICAL SURGERIES VIDEOGRAPHED. SO THAT IN THE EVENT OF A BOTCHED UP SURGERY OR AN ALLEGATION ON SURGEON THE FILM CAN BE USED AS AN EVIDENCE - FOR A FAIR TRIAL. MOREOVER SUCH CAM CORDED FILMS CAN BE USED AS A GOOD EDUCATIONAL TOOL FOR BUDDING MEDICAL STUDENTS AND AS A CME FOR EVEN SENIOR DOCTORS ON NEW SURGICAL TECHNIQUES. A GOOD EXAMPLE OF SUCH CAM CORDED SURGERY IS THE LAPROSCOPIC SURGERY, WHICH CAN BE SEEN LIVE BY DOCTORS CONDUCTING OP. AS WELL AS STUDENTS AND EVEN PATIENT"S RELATIVES. THESE DAYS IT IS MANDATORY FOR ALL INTERVENTIONAL CARDIAC SURGERIES CONDUCTED IN ALL MAJOR HOSPITALS TO GIVE A C.D. OF PROCEDURE DONE TO THE PATIENT UPON DISCHARGE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE AS WELL AS EVIDENCE OF PROCEDURE DONE. GOOD LIVELY TOPIC LETS HAVE MORE VIEWS ON IT.

Video surgeries are exteremly important for training pupose and for future treatment guidance. It can also be used for tha compliance also since the doctors are also negligent which operating patient, like use of mobile phones in OT.

Let us not intrude the privacy of medical proffession. The act would mean the system of medicine would lose credibility and we lose faiyh in medicine. Just as legal arguments are prohibhited from videography so also medine or surguries should be absolved from such acts
