I agree this topic.teachers should take highest paid because they works hard beyond to the students. teachers have many responsibilities like as students and upper department. they have lot of pressure. so teaching should made highest paid job..

Thanks for the referral Ms Sarika. A very interesting topic Ms Sheetal. We are what our teachers have made us. As Ms Sarika rightly said teachers are the “FUTURE FARMERS” who shape our children. We as a parent/brother/sister/relative get frustrated with “our own kids” so just imagine a teacher who has to handle 30-40 kids at a time. A person who comes in to teaching just because he/she is frustrated as they did not find job elsewhere and even in teaching the pay is not good will surely not make a good teacher, and can really scare away children from schools. I don’t say that teaching should be the highest paid job, as this is a very difficult thing to do, that is to define a pay so that no one gets more than the teachers, but it should be made such that the pay scale is higher than or at least equal to some other professionals such as Doctors, MBA’s.

I fully support the idea. A teacher’s job should be full of rewards according to his performance. He should be accountable for good teaching, research and innovation in his field and useful for the community as a moral guide. It is required to create immense opportunity in career development through performance for the teachers to attract best brains.

Yes, Sheeta I agree with you. Teachers are the builder of the nation and they must be paid high amount. But same time their private tuition is to be banned. Due to less payment they are helpless and taking keen interest in the private tuition and ultimately which affects the carrier and study of regular students. IF they will be paid highly the status of education will also improve.Teaching is the most respected profession it should be highly paid also.

I agree with Sheetal. Teachers are the "Future framers" of a nation. They are responsible for framing a country's future- Its children. If they are not paid properly, then good talents won't take teaching as a career which would mean declination the quality of education given to children and a nation's future at a risk. So teaching should be the highest paying job so that good reasearchers, scientists and creative minds take it as career and making students like them.

No. It should not be the highest paid job. There are many more professions which contribute equal or more to the society, than teachers. However, as it is a noble and well paid profession, impetus should be given to encourage more people into it.

Well, I think all front line services should be appreciated. It can monetory or specials status in the society, like it was in Ancient India. Apart from that defense (internal/external), should also be highest paid jobs.

I agree that the teachers should be paid fairly high so that it remains an attractive avenue to be chosen as a career and honestly fulfill the moral responsibilities of dissemination of knowledge selflessly and promote the excellence. But, I do not go with the word "highest". NO offence or disrespect to the teaching community, but there are many other jobs that involve huge risk, responsibility and tough task. I think that the pay should be awarded as per the various types of factors involved in the job like responsibility, risk, monotony, task significance, complexity, required knowledge, etc. Still I would support a fairly high reward to the teachers.

No, not teaching but the ZEALOUS TEACHING needs to be made the highest paid job...because if we make just teaching the highest paid job without revising norms....malignancy is sure to creep into the system.....

Each and every services are not rewarded by money. Can any body reward the contribution of Mahatma Gandhi in our freedom by money? When you doing Social Work OR National work you are not being rewarded by money but you always remains in the hearts of every citizens. It i well said in SANSKRIT "GURU SAKSHAT PERAH BRAMHA TASMAISI GURU DEVO NAMAHA."

Why compare teaching with any other profession? Rather than doing that getting people involved in the business of education will provide more opportunities for teachers and better pay packets too. secondly, giving too much emphasis to any profession just kills it in the long run cuz the sudden influx of employees initially cuts down the demand n then the gradual mve away cuts down the prospective employees.
