Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, harping on socialist ideals, had come down heavily on India Inc for doling out fat salaries to CEOs. He had also asked CEOs to voluntarily opt for a pay cut in order to curb social inequity. Now, the Government is mulling with the idea of raising the salary and post-retirement benefits of the President, Vice President and Governors

Why should the President's salary and benefits be hiked when poor farmers are committing suicide? How much tax does the President have to pay on his 'salary'? It is the poor tax payer's money

taccording  to me,,the first citizen, commander-in-chief of armed forces can't be compared with any CEO or other public servant. The post carries lot of dignity and weight. If the decision has been made to hike the salary, must be well thought out decision. And also the salary was never so high at the first place so even if it is doubled, doesn't put a burden on India's resources.

In a democratic state like ours our politicians are the supreme lords they can do any thing and take any thing( If we say no hike in salary they will increase the perks) for govt employee if he has more than 2 kids only first 2 are give facilities but for PM, Pres etc all their kids get security cover even after they are off the post
