This has become a practice for the real estate agents to charge commission from the tenants whereas the owners are the one who benefits. They get their apartment or houses occupied at the earliest and the tenants are the one who have to shed rent every month plus the commission. My question is why should tenant empty their pocket when owners are benefited.

He should charge the owners bcoz he is getting the money and tenant is loosing it though he is getting the roof.

They should charge the owners. The owners hold more responsibility.

According to me both has to pay the agents as the agent is rendering service to both tenants and the owners. The charging percentage could vary.

they should charge the owners on percentage and for the tenants they should charge first the finders fee
