Recently, the reality shows have produced a whole new debate on whether there should be censorship for television content or not. It is to be noted that the number of television channels are growing rapidly and therefore the number of shows have also gone up. Do you think the contents of these shows need consoring? Or do you think that the hullabaloo is all a hype and there is no need for any censorship board for controlling television content? Since, in India there is a significant number of households having a TV set, this definitely is an important question for the masses.

Certainly yes!!

Most of the programs that are aired in India are not original, but are a copy of the programs aired in USA or other countries, which do not really need any checks or censorship looking at their culture.

India is a different country with different culture and basics and it has unfortunately got into copying and or imitating western programs and in turn even other things!

I do agree with that, in the name of democracy no one has liberty to violets others liberty too. Which is clearly mentioned in there. So sensoring is must as we should forget our culture, society in India.

India is a democracy, and that too, a growing one. People, here, want freedom of choice. They should be allowed to see all the programmes with various type of contents. If there is something objectionable, people have the freedom to skip that channel and opt for another. So, people will automatically reject content that is not acceptable. Thinking about censorship is only moral poilicing and there is no place of such factors in democracy.

It would be a herculean task but as players are getting to play more cricket these days, I think someone will break the record some day. However, that will also depend on the future of cricket. If test cricket loses its shine, we cannot expect someone...
