Should there be a chat and Voice based Chat option on Too-Step..?

Dear All,

We all participarte in debates, post our article, make professional contacts on Too- Step. I have a question should Too Step have an option of voice chat and chat on too step.. If we are professionally connected , the only option to connect on Too Step is mail..

Would not it be good if there is a chat option on To Step.. That would help all of us to connect well professionally.. We can also have open discussions on voice chat..

I believe that there must be a chat option in To Step, as it would help us connect well with each other...

Toostep is not Facebook. This is a professional networking site. If you want voice chat, use gchat or yahoo chat to connect with your associates on toostep. It might be a burden for the toostep team to setup and moderate chats (text or voice). Besides which, there is no need for toostep to provide a chat app when people can chat privately as per their mutual convenience.

Actually guys you dont get the point why we need a chat version on too-step its not for personal contacts even I agree to that as there are many social networking sites like facebook and orkut, but the reason for chat is if someone is in a fix and needs an advice from a particular member in the toostep who is an expert, he does'nt need to wait untill people reply to his queries unless the moment he see the person online can directly shoot his query and even he has some doubts in the advice given can solve on hand.

I agree with you Japan. Too Step only has the medium of mail to connect with the people which is rather slow medium then of chat and voice chat where u can debate or chat and clear your doubts if any live.

@Darshil  If that is your reason, why don't you just write an e-mail to your friend or ping him on his IM. What are the chances that your friend would be on toostep when you put him that question?

I feel the Chatting Module does not fit in the format of TooStep, where opinion formation process is on with pouring views from all professionals. Toostep serves as a platform for group discussions.

Anyway, if two members feel the need of one to one discussions, they can send mail, exchange mail id and start one to one chatting on other messanger services. For this, do not feel need of messanger services on TooStep.

each project had got a primary goal, in toostep the sharing knowledge is important, however toostep has some problem still, such as commens word-wrapping, editing comments, and Also heavy JQuery-ajax pages, it's okay to having many futures here, but also needs professional analyse and developing

i agree with all here this is not just any social networking site, toostep is one of its kind and where professional discussions will be happening, so why spoil the whole thing with chat option....there is no need of chat option in toostep....what we are having is more than enough....

There is no requirement of chat option in Toostep.. this is a knowledge sharing professional platform and not meant for personal chats etc. If required to communicate personally there is the option of sending mail in toostep.

See there is huge difference in a platform like Toostep and Facebook etc. We are a kind of social website but with a difference. Here we do not talk about school days and family status, we talk about brands, problems faced by brands, creating brands, vision which have an impact on the professional think process.

So why spoil this with a chat option? Whoever thought of this at all....!!!!

I totally agree with Viktor’s argument. I am also sure many of us are busy and have limited time to participate effectively on Toostep. I don’t think chatting and voice connection is a necessity on this site.
