On Friday, Union minister Sharad Pawar dismissed reports of his family's involvement in the City Corporation's failed bid for the Pune IPL team, saying the construction company's Managing Director made the attempt in his individual capacity. According to him neither I nor any of my family members were involved in any IPL team or the bidding process and I reiterate that statement.

He is deniying of having any involvement in the bidding process and rubbished the suggestions of any underhand dealing in the bidding process, saying if he had used his influence, the company wouldn't have lost to Sahara. Pawar also reiterated that the IPL is clean and there is nothing murky about the ownership patterns and financial transactions in the league. Lastly, Pawar denyed of any corruption in IPL and promised of punishing anyone who has done anything wrong.

So users, do you think there should be a thorough investigation into the politicians' involvement in IPL?

I think there should be a thorough investigation into the politicians' involvement in IPL. Because, at bidding, individual asks for it. When a bid is available, individual changes himself to a company and will go for it. Things are strange. Pawar 's statement that he and his family are involved in IPL bid seems to be a thing for thought. Why high placed people deny when actually are part of the bid? BCCI must inform all who are all stakeholders .

OF COURSE A THOROUGH INVESTIGATION IS REQUIRED BUT MORE THAN THAT THE REPORT SHOULD BE PREPARED WITHOUT ANY INTERVENTION AND IT SHOULD BE OPEN TO PUBLIC.WILL IT HAPPEN?

No investigation will help, there is a corruption, a JPC or CBI investigation is just for sweeping the issue under the carpet and we will forget the issue soon.

Yes there should be an independent body that look into the whole functioning of IPL.In the present set up onthing will happen as the big heads are involved. An independent body without any political or  other involvement should look into it.s

The investigation should not be limited to politicians only. The complete story behind IPL should come out.I dont understand why the PM is hesitating for such an investigation even after it led to the resignation of a minister in his cabinet. It is true that a high level involvement is there....

Hi Himanshu, thanks for referal.i don't know what will be the use in conducting thorough investigation of politicians role in IPL as already every one knows who are all part of it.party's include politicians belonging to both ruling and opposition parties in Govt.even if truth prevails,it will take decades to finalise the penalty.when we are in such a hasty position in case of a criminal whose death sentence still cannot be executed (Afzal Guru) can we think any use in investigation in IPL fiasco? it is waste of time and public money.
