In my openion our politics is corrupted due to many party system. If some body is not getting the desired post he is creating new party and strat bargaining.

This many party system is also responsible for division in we Indians. Just see the example of Shiv Sena & MNS in maharastra, DMK & AIDMK in Tamilnadu. JMM(Jharkhand Mukti Morcha)  & JVM in Jharkhand. Thsese party are only thinking about one state not about the nation, but play major role in forming national govt..

There are n number of parties like RJD, LJP, BSP, SP, LD, NCP, TMC, are present in only 2-3 states with more or less view point of congress.

No, there should be many parties so that public may decide of their own. What if all 4 parties are dishonest ? How we will get an honest government. So, I think there shouldn't be any bar on number of parties in India...

Dear Prasad, You are also agreed that we need strong parties with inner democracy. This is really good for India that we got leaders like Rahul Gandhi. But if you will see that we got him by chance. When he entered politics he was known as son of gandhi family. But he is doing good work for our country. With few leaders like him you can't develop big country like INDIA. We need at least 300 leaders like him. That to all in ruling side.

Just read your 2nd paragraph, most parties are cast based parties with limited reach. If you will see in detail then you will find that these cast based parties are not united all becouse they want to gain personal benefit in the name of party. If there will be 3-4 party based system then these cast based parties has to be merged with national party with national goal.

Just see the example of BJP, common man thinks that they are parties for hindu. When they formed govt. they never tried to make RAM Mandir at Ayodhya. They made Abdul Kalam as president of India (according to me I will never see second man like him in my life time).

I still belive that there should be 3-4 party system in INDIA.

The less number of parties are, the less will be competition and easy for the public to decide. With lot of parties, even public may get confused and it can take the counting board a lot of time to count the votes...

The present party system in India is still evolving in our young democracy. Communal parties are losing out to parties with development agenda. We need strong parties with inner party democracy and today most of parties in India are for the leader, by the leader. This situation has to change. The efforts of Rahul to bring in inner party elections has already sent shock waves among appointed leaders who were thriving on mercy from powerful leaders.

Do we have any choice in India as most parties are caste based with limited reach. National level parties are hard to find which have good objectives keeping common man and development as their focus.

election is the trump card of the people in a democratic country. if the number of parties are limited, the number of choices of people are also get limited. also more parties means mostly a coalition government. such government is better than a single party govt. because every decision of the leading party will be scrutinized by other partner parties also. by this a monopolistic decision cannot be taken by the govt. and the opposition also will have many parties and they will be continuously trying to bring out the negative activities/corruptions of the   ruling party. all this ultimately help the common man to take a decision at the next election to choose another candidate.
