I think you are right, consumers should boycott the product. The price of milk has been increased again by 3 rupees/litre. In spite of paying so much money if we are receiving adulterated milk, we should definitely protest. Let the Government take action against it. Regards, Shruth & Smith Foundation (NGO). I am boycotting it from China. We already have had many scandals surrounding milk and milk powder products. The root cause though is administration's complicity with the bad companies.

Would like to ask Kavitha ji and others on Left Column, how many food items would you avoid? Almost every vegetable and food item is contaminated, thanks to quick money race, unconcerned majority and missing regulator. The answer if any lies in bringing change and arrest of over speed in commercialisation.

Do you think the problem will be ended by just boycotting ! The answer is No. Proper education, awareness and fighting against the cause is the main strategy to fight against such issues.

Boycotting is not an answer Awareness is. As in western world people because of awareness converting to become VEGAN, not using any milk product because of bad effects of good(not contaminated) milk I think we also one day become aware of it and leave it like that.

Just vote with your money and observe your country's regulation. It is more often than not to see misinformation floating around about milk. Also it is more often than not to see big farmers spawning crazy ideas because they mostly hurt the small farms and families. These rumors are easily checked by simply asking a proper authority to test samples and see if they fit within the regulation criteria.

If you are really insistent on having your milk then its best to find a milkman who will come with his cow at your doorstep and milk in front of you. Though he will find an ingenious way to add water even though you are watching, at least you are assured that it doesnt contain other harmful stuff like detergents etc. But then again, do you still find such people in the city ?

Time to Adopt a Cow in whichever Goshala's promoted by various Trusts closest to your location and seek pure milk from them. They would be willingly offer you unadulterated milk, as also by-products made out of cow-dung, cow-urine, etc.

There are several ways to test using LC GC MS MS Chromotography Spectrometry. Law should be stringent to punish adultration. Should buy only packed labelled milk who are concsious of quality, reputation.

China is dumping the adulterated products of this kind. China made eggs were already in circulation in India. Their target market is remote villages. Now the milk and many of more this kind. A decision at the highlevel is required. Our rulers are never been proactive. Unless somebody or some body agitates against such things, our Govt. never opens its eyes.
