Yes they should be. It would be much better if politics is made as part of education. Students should start thinking politics as a career.... Which will bring a big change !!!

As per my believe politics is not a subject or topic either it is a voting right which requires minimum age of 18 bcoz its a feeling of expressions along with our perception in which anyone is trying to show that he/she is doing something for the welfare of the society or the nation .Now a days we are making fun out of it bcoz we are not taking it with right approach nor only youth in the college can change the scenario of politics also requires the expert & consistence approach.

They are the voters in future. A strong sense of history and political process coupled with sense of discrimination to be a responsible citizen either to take on a role of political leaders or select selfless politicians to govern the country, should be inculcated through teaching and debates.

A large section of Two generations of Indians after independence have to struggle to gain economic independence and the among the future generations, many need not worry about two square meals a day and hence can venture into political field and many at least can prevent money and muscle power in winning the elections.

Entirely a new kind of political leadership has to emerge as it is happening in other fields of our developmental process. Future political leaders have to be adept in managerial skills in promoting sociological and economic reforms in tune with the changing times, while creating ecosystem for every one to have a level playing field.

They should be exposed to reality in all forms at college level to help them face the reality when they get main streamed.

However i am very strongly against the introduction of party based groups inside college campus. They cause serious problems and sirupt academic activity. They also create certain value systems that are not compatible with academic growth because these value systems give priority to party over institution. That can never be. For a student, the academic impact is magnifierd by his loyalty to his alma matter.

Yes, yes, yes!!

Unless we get educated, concious youth from the current generation we will continue to be led by the self-serving, sometimes corrupt, sometimes unscrupulous, ineffective and uncaring oldies as we have for the last half century.

I feel youth need to be exposed to politics at their college levels , as the need of youth in our political system is vital . The Spirits which a youth carry is more than enough for the betterment of our society , more over i feel the level of influences which youth drives in our political sector is not that great compared to some countries abroad . Youth participation will bring in unconditional dedication towards country's overall development  .  Development is thick & fast in all aspects of life in india , due to the youths  urge , still our political system needs a renaissance .

Yes!! Youth has to become part of politics to faciliate the reconstuction of a better society and country...and exposure to politics at college level will be effective step...as thinking and contribution from the freshers is fresh..as it is not influenced by partial view of reality.thus the untapped power of youth,if channeled in rite direction can do wonders to current political set up .

Since India is a democratic country and as a responsible citizen of it one should take part in the electoral process. At college level students should also know how the system functions. It is only at the college level that the students can learn this in a healthy and a safe way. By having college elections students get to develop an important skill of decision making, and learn that their decisions not only affect them but also lives of others. This should be a monitored process (by college administration ) so that the whole activity organised for their benefit doesn't harm them in any way (physically , mentally or even monetarily )

Exposure in terms of understanding of issues and opening their faculties to discuss is good and healthy, while playing in the hands of political parties without having the requisite understanding and maturity can at minimum stunt open thoughts and discourage positives........Responsible and Matured mentors needed for such induction.

Politics is not something that you acquire in your prime youth...we have many youngsters now too in politics...but not all of them have fit into the political system in the right way...be it a jawaan or a budda, if he/she is educated in terms of values, traditions, religion and other sensitive issues apart from the regular academic qualification (minimum degree essential), i think that is all you need to change the poilitical scenario in a country....so educate india is what is needed, not some extra bunch of papers flashing some of the most filthiest politicians whom we unfortunately regard them as Leaders...

It is true that our youth in educational institutions must know how politics work But they must not be in politics. Their main concern should be about acquiring the education for which they go to school/college and not to engage in party politics and goondaism. The student unions in many institutions are real headaches for authorities as their main purpose seems to be disruption of classes. As it happens today, students are being misused by the political parties to meet their ends.
