SOA is a Hype

SOA Hype?..No. It certainly the future of IT. In a firm whether small or big , there is a myriad of technology platforms which need to work in sync to give the business functionality as required for successful running of business and of course all the business requirement cannot be met by a single product...so hence many products in a firm. So seamless Integration and technology virtualization are dreams of every firm now. Every firm wants that its business should be implemented fast and there should not be any negative effect of technology/product plateforms change on ongoing business. How do we achieve this????...... there come technology vertualisation concept and SOA concept in picture. If we design of system based on SOA principles following proper principles and design patterns , we can make technical landscape more extensible and reduce effect of tech..change to business operations...definately we have to put a lot of time and money for frst phase of design of SOA based system using soa based products..but due coarse of time, ROI that we will get from such system will justify our move to SOA way of designing.....

I think any mid to large product company which can align their product suite as per SOA concept can make good business in SOA. Even if implement SOA based system, definately there will be more than one products being used in a firm, so question of SOA being only for large company or not for mid /small company does not arise.

Its definate advantage if the service is identified cleverly. Not each everything can be based on SOA. It has benefit in long run

I dont feel so SOA also helps you cut down costs which is a big issue for small co's it can help us by delivering the products on SAS model which can be very much cost effective

I feel SOA is the hot stuff and is there to stay and now with all the major tec giants moving in this area we see a lot of growth
