The death of this methodology will happen due to lack of foresight on the part of the implementers, who implement them without knowing when and where to implement this methodology. 6 Sigma is a part of the quality movement; and is a tool that helps in improvement of quality or in other words "reduction in the variation of a process" - the lower the variation, the better the quality.

However. most people do not understand this and start implementing it because a GE / Motorola etc have implemented and have benefited. What people dont define is the problem... I dont blame the companies... however consultants I do blame -  they sell the flavour of the month and spoil the name of the philosophy.

Six Sigma is a must not only for customer facing services, but also in any industry who believes in process management, project management techniques using effective quality tools. In short, most the quality tools used anywhere are a part of DMAIC methodology and hence can't be overruled.. since there is a great demand of GB/BB holders around the world, this has proved to be the most effective way of showcasing projects in an acceptable way..

Moreover UK standards are the one which are being followed by everyone in the world, whether it's GB-Six Sigma or BS7799 / which in europe is known as ISO standards (IBMS)..

By seeing the current position and demand six sigma is having today, we can easily say, its not easy for it to just "die away" so easily...

Six sigma will never die ,,,,,,Because Six sigma is Adicted process among the industries .... Every industries tries to achive  their level more than a six sigma quality priority.... so it will never be die how ever it will get more feeding to grow

I have seen the Six Sigma application being done in the hospitality industry. ITC is one brand that is flaunting the Six Sigms principles and have implemented it in their strategy already. I am equally keen to learn and I have also heard that it is fast catching up with the PG MBA degree as well. I do not know this but looking up the Six Sigms privciples I have found out that it is in fact fast replacing MBA program. Correct me if I am wrong please!!
