I would go with keeping a global brand. This technique would actually give you economies of scale so I think it would more appropriate.

Don't you think Pizza hut, Mc Donald's are doing great by applying this strategy. If they would have though of economies of scale then I think they would have ruined their business.

I think it would not be good to say here economies of scale as to when your brand did not capture consumers awareness pattern then what would be the advantage of the brand itself.
