It seems to me that with corporate's infatuation with the quarterly bottom line, there is really no such thing as strategy any more. There is only tactics, or in the even shorter term, panicky reaction.

If you do your strategic planning right then you have developed tactical plans and done tactical training. Planning is done strategically. What you see happening on the floor, hopefully, is organization and the selection of the correct tactical plan.
