I support you Mr.Amalabha. ERP cannot be implemented without the strong participation of top management as the ERP implementation needs the support of entire organisation.

No doubt, It a management decision. So they have to play an important role in the implementation.

I agree with you fully, as this is the foremost success factor in an ERP Implementation Project.

Projects like ERP Implementations are "Business Projects" than just "IT Projects" and they will have greater impact across the entire organization.

Firstly, The top management has to define clear objectives / goals / results to be achieved by the ERP Implementation. They need to lead from the front to make the entire organization team (Middle & Junir Management) understand the significance of such projects to ensure its successful implementation.

All other below factors would only follow the Top Management Commitment:
1) Blueprinting (Business Requirements Freezing);
2) Product & Vendor Selection
3) Project & Resource Management

I agree with you. Only people who can see end to end on a process can contribute towards getting it automated and cut short.

ERP cannot be customized/implemented without people participation (particularly, the key people) and without the top level's resolve it is not possible to get key peoples' participation.
