Super moon was super...What was the fear for?

There was a lot told about supermoon..How will it effect the gravity and cause disastors.. and a lot more.. The Japan tragedy ade people think even more. . What is it..What is it that we fear more? It is the fear of unknown or it is just is silly and insensitive media hype which spreads lot of unthoughtful fear?

Even if we wouldn't have known about the Supermooon  we all sky watchers would have enjoyed the phenomenon and happily be talking aout its beauty. Today media is actually inrupting into everything trying to make cover stories and trying to divert our minds. More than it being fear of somethign unknown it is the hype that media creatrd weeks before the real thing happened and made it a spicy curry to making a common man their victim as always.

The fear was fanned by crazy theories. Tectonic activity (tremors, earthquakes) blown out of proportion, doomsday theories, every small event magnified by the know-it-alls. So the common man was apprehensive of what to expect. I must say that the super moon was very wonderful to observe.

Media is increasing and make very attractive story to increase their viewership, like story, voice over tone, reporter tone, headline etc. are very attractive that people are become enthusiastic to watch the news.
