For me, faster Internet is a basic necessity to run my business perfectly. All my seminars are now played in virtual mode for which at least 512 kbps connection is a minimum requirement. So, Survey goes right

Internet access should be made a commodity, if not ones right. Speed does matter where time is money and with interconnected communities world becomes smaller and responsive.

High speed internet should be considered infrastructure service just like oil pipelines, electricity grid and water supply. So many personal, professional and business activities are dependent on connectivity. Last year a report was released, that showed relationship between high speed connectivity and economic growth. For India, high speed internet is critical for next generation of services delivery and commerce. Best technical solution is to deploy 4G wireless broadband.

I am unable to agree with Mr. Professor Kazmi. Internet provides you whatever information you want in minutes. In the arena of Information how to live without information. Whom you could consult for a required information. Internet is your friend to provide information at any time. I am speaking this from my own experiences.

High-speed Internet has had the greatest technological impact on society over the past decade and is the technology most people say they cannot live without, according to a new poll. Twenty four percent of 1,950 U.S. adults questioned in the online survey conducted by Zogby International said high-speed Internet had the greatest impact on their lives, followed closely by Facebook at 22 percent and Google with 10 percent. Of the technologies people say they cannot live without, high-speed Internet came in first at 28 percent and email was second at 18 percent. When asked what they thought would be the greatest technological advancement in the next year, 24 percent said it would be in home entertainment and 16 percent said it would be in general computing. Looking ahead to the next decade, 43 percent of those surveyed predicted there would be regular use of stem cells and cloning techniques to create human organs for transplant. Forty percent said computer chips would be implanted in people to monitor their health, and the same number said robots would be capable of performing manual labor jobs. What fishing net is to a fisherman, internet is to a net savvy man...Gone are the days when you depend on someone for information...Now that you have by your side at a click of a mouse all the info you need, you certainly would like to have it coming at you at a speed of light...and it is broadband that can give you that speed...though there are many who claim to have given the solution to high speed internet, we are actually yet to see it materialise...hopefully, 2011 could be the year that can satiate in us that lightening desire...High Speed Internet

It depends on how one adapts to something. if it appeals and it is a dire necessity one will not feel comfortable without it. but any thing as indulgence(read cant live thinking) id self made and id superfluos.people can live with simple basic necessities in a relaxed manner than with all these internet/mobile etc.But in the persemt working atmosphere ,to be able to earn these things are part of the system

Well with the world going around you at lightning speeds and the internet being its backbone. I would say yes. I mean who would want to wait for a vid to buffer or your inboxes to open at a snails pace. But then again what would be your definition of Hi Speed internet? A 512 KBPS or a 1 MBPS line which is more than enough for you to watch HD streams or multitask over the net can be considered normal these days. I mean seriously, with the introduction of 16 MBPS and above connection speeds for the general public, who would consider 512 or even 1 MBPS as Hi-Speed. But if the question was "if people can live without any forms internet in these present times". I would still say "yes, they can". It may not apply for us lot who work on PCs for various purposes. But there are still tons of people who still live a proper life without the need for internet.

If you are trying to tell "Its really difficult to live without High Speed internet" or "It's great to have High Speed Internet"- then I Agree. Not able to live without Internet..?? I totally disagree. I am an animation engineer running my own company. My business depends on TBs of Data FTPs every single hour! But this so-called "dependency" has never stopped me from taking a weekend trek to network-less forests or people-less hills! I had just been to Kudremukh Nature camp for a week with all my team mates- had an excellent time there and believe me- there was no mobile, no internet, no people except my guide, my colleagues and 25 ever-green mountain ranges all-around!! That's some life.. " Technology makes life easier.. Only those who cannot control it will become easy slaves to its charm!" Cheers!

You don't really need high speed internet, What do u intend to download with high speed internet is more important is it related to your work or just browsing net, and when you say hi speed the clarity on 256KBPS to 4 MBPS is required what are we referring to as high speed, Normal internet browsing is OK even with 256 KBPS alone , if you are planning to download movies or play online games you might need higher bandwidth.

Over dependence on anything can be disastrous. How people lived and communicated when the so called high speed internet was not available?. People will live even with limited food and water if the situation demands. So the view that people can not live without high speed internet etc., are baseless.
