Mostly companies tend to squeeze out the knowledge or the work from an existing employee and they don't know the real value of their resources. I would rather say employes are not changing but the other companies which observe his talent make them to change. No company is ready to get an resource and train; instead they take a person who actually had done his basics right in a company and they don,t mind about the duration the resource worked there

The working culture in private sector promote, switching job. When we change job we get 20 to 30% of hike in our salary, but while annual increment an employee get 10 to 15 % hike. Its good to change job tillthe time a person is getting good job and promotion.

Commitment and stability are words invented by companies who are unable to hire or replace good talent.... you are selling your skills for cash just as in any other product or service you are selling your skills and you have to get the best compensation, if your current company cannot retain you that means they do not have a role for you which you actually deserve... no employee is asking for a share in the profit or ownership they work for money and that is the bottom line

Many employers are not ready to appoint a person frequently shifting from one company to an other. Normally an employee may not be ready to change one employer to an other if his immediate reporting Boss and Level 2 Boss are capable to support him on career groath. If they are selfish chaps, an award winning employee also may quit the company

It is true in today's scenario as the company's are preferring laterals for senior positions rather than promoting their own talent pool. They seem to promise a lot(esp. in IT sector) but intend to fulfill it in the long run till an employee puts up his resignation. So the employees today find switching jobs easier to get career growth rather than begging/waiting indefinitely for progression to happen in his so called dream company which he is now ready to leave.I think it is high time companies to accept this fact and start working on it, to save upon its star performers

yeah it is correct but "frequent" word seems to be erratic. If an employee starts from lower package and remains within the same org, he will not be getting much as expected but if he joins another after 1-2 years, he will make up the chances for growth both in terms of position and salary.

There can be different reasons for switch over...like there are two scenarios for most of us..life prior to marriage -bachelor life and Life after marriage. Most people don't switch over due to family is well settled in same city, social restrictions etc or fear of not proving one self in other company. But as a bachelor..i support one to change company once in 3 years to bring growth graph up.If you are continuing with same company for a long time...it is like ghar ki muragi daal barabar. So based on dynamicity rules of the games should be also dynamic.Because i have many friends they are woeking with same company since 8 to 1o yrs and are in salary bracket of 4-5 lack ,while there are other who have reached to 10 lack and above because they changed companies.

Switching your jobs keeps the prospective candidates in an advatageous position to negotiate better. However, at times frequently switching jobs may have certain demerits that may prove to be detrimental to the growth of the candidate in question. But yes, overall it does leads to faster career growth in terms of salary, position or otherwise than a loyal incumbent staying for years together in the same orgn.

Yes... Frequent Job Hopping has the advantage of speedy growth in terms of remuneration and designation. But after some point of time organization hesitate to pick a frequent hopper as he is unstable in his career ambition and the job seeker will feel the pinch. The added advantage Is he/she has the privilege of learning new organization culture and ethics.

We are living in a fast pace market place, this is the case for businesses but as well as for people, who are the one behind any businesses. People change for various motivation, money being one but not always, if they cannot grow in their current company, they have to go finding out there what is better for them. Now the question is what will you do to retain high fliers in your company, do you view them just as a commodity, and do you value the intangible asset of your company, usually the employees. If businesses were focusing on that I believe people would feel less in need to be job flirt-er.

At the beginning of one's career, it is nearly impossible to find something right without trying a bunch of options. After that, you will experience more personal growth from changing jobs frequently than staying in one job for extended periods of time. And if you change jobs frequently you build an adaptable skill set and a wide network which are the keys to being able to find a job whenever you need to.

As far as knowledge or experience is concern, in today's fast growing and developing market, even if you spend 5 years in the same field or company you might not be able to obtain all the skills, on the other option if you fix a proper time period for your self on switching a job, you will see that your knowledge and skills are much better then the person who are sticking with the same job or company. The change always gives better future and knowledge.

If u are thinkin that ur company is not givin u d work of ur intrest dan switch d job of ur intrest. and make ur base dere. Some times an employee is forced to switch jobs frequently due to factors beyond his control. It happens not because he is poor at his job or he likes switching frequently. Just because one tiger which slept under an apple tree got smarter does not mean all tigers will become smarter if they start sleeping under an apple tree. What I am trying to say is - switching jobs may be a blessing for some, for some others it could be a disaster.

Now a days young generation do not believe to be continue with a company for long. Right from their joining an organization they started searching another job. I personally believe that this practice does not yield any fruitful result. Those employees change their jobs frequently, they may loose their creditability. Many employers do not prefer such employees who believes in changing the jobs frequently for gaining more financial benefits. Earning of money is an important aspect of the working life, but it does't mean that one should stack his/her professional life only for one aspect i.e. money. The job satisfaction is another important feature of professional life. Until and unless the circumstances of particular organization go out of control or unbearable, one should not leave the current job. The main thing is that stability is more beneficiary than to change frequently.

As a recruiter, I would look for some qualities beyond basic qualification and experience that a candidate will bring to the workplace - stability, cheerfulness, positive thinking, team spirit etc. If I look at a resume wherein the candidate has switched many jobs, what is the guarantee that after the full induction process, the training given, avenues for growth/development analysed and afforded, mentoring etc. this person just ups and walks out because he/she wants to try something else out? Frequesnt switchers are taken on only because of an urgent requirement never as a lasting solution. What growth are we talking about when the management is fully prepared for the ditch when it comes?

I do agree with Dipti but up to certain extent not fully this just cz switching jobs frequently can give you money but not knowledge and skills that an employee should have to get a good reputed job in an organization. In today's era the youth prefers and gives importance to money only resulting instability in company which leads to the rapidly field change in career establishment which is not good.Cz up to an extent money can attract you but when it comes to skills and knowledge so you won't feel confident and every time this uncertainty will be in your mind which will keep on disturbing your mind, so you can’t feel relaxed secured.

Shifting job frequently is a sign of mentally unstable person. When you commit a job you should put your heart and soul into it. Frequent job changes gives a negative impact on the recruiter. I don't buy it. Some of the org are not considering your exp if you don't complete 2 yrs in one org. Also basic thing is if you learn any process or apps, in first six months, you will start delivering independently only after 6 months. The company would get the returns after a year. If you switch very frequently, it might give you more perks, not good reputation.

It may fetch you good money initially but will not last long. I suppose that frequent job switching will definitely raise a question about the stability & credibility towards the work. This results in bad impact on the CV which could lead into elimination form job application. So instead frequent switching of jobs one should justify the work they are doing in current organisation & wait for the suitable opportunity.

TO HAVE A GOOD EXPERIENCE OF KNOWLEDGE, RATHER THAN THINKING OF MONEY, I THINK ONE SHOULD NOT LEAVE A JOB TOO OFTEN AS IT MAY CREATE A BAD IMPRESSION WHEN HE/SHE IS INTERVIEWED OF HIS/HER PAST EXPERIENCE, WHEN HE/SHE APPROACHES TO AN ANOTHER COMPANY, BETTER STICK TO A JOB WHAT YOU GOT. BUT THIS RULES APPLIES TO A PERSON WHO IS A FRESHER, BUT WHEN WE TALK ABOUT AN EXPERIENCED PERSON THEN RULES DEFINITELY DO CHANGE FOR HIM/HER. AS HE/SHE IS AN EXPERIENCED ONE WHO HAS HAD AN EXPERIENCE OF JOB, THEN HE/SHE HAS AN OPTION TO HOP FROM ONE JOB TO AN ANOTHER.

hi friends as per my views are concerned i think we can make our base too strong and also can grow faster if we stay in a company for at least 3 yrs.as it is well observed in good cultured firms that they wish to see those employee in fronts and happy who are there with them at least for a longer while.it becomes tough for a person when he/she changes or jumps from one company to other.so it's better to be loyal than unfaithful as,most of us when go for an interview faces a common question that why did we want to leave the current employer.so fuys it's better to stay in a company till you had a good/convincing reason.
