Tata launches SUV Aria: Will it be successfull?

Tata Motors has a major task at hand—to distance itself from the tag of being the brand preferred by the cab industry. Though it might be financially quite plum for the company, after a stage one runs after brand image and value.


And with Aria, its latest crossover, it’s the brand value and positioning which the company intends to change. From being the taxi driver’s first choice it wishes to become the rich man’s ride. And also they have Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour to tackle competition from, already these SUV's are doing very well in India.

As far as the looks of these vehicles are concerned, all of them have the butch SUV type feel but where the Aria earns some brownie points is that its design is such that it easily blends into a bracket where the powerful look and feel of an SUV merges with the swooping spaciousness of an MUV.  Also Tata are trying to come out of their brand image which is a Cab drivers delight and in this regard they are having a powerful product and can really give some stiff competition for other SUV's in the market and the  Tata brand name itself is a big thing and products from Tata's stable are always reliable for that matter...

ya. I hope Tata Aria which is the first Indian four wheel drivewill also ROCK the market. Now it looks like a "Piano"(very smooth)and i hope it will work like"Rhino"

The car is great. Have personally sat inside the same and I got to agree that the fit and finish has take a giant leap but will people be ready for a 16 Lac Tata ? I dont think so. Had they priced it near to around 12-13 they would have definitely sold in the market. Now even if they correct the prices , it might get a weak response from the Market like Sumo Grande

1. "Dicor" is not a very successful engine.

2. It is too pricey.
