Tata Nano is 100% Indian. It is a very feasible car in terms of initial cost - even middle class people can afford to have one for city use. Middle class people till date had to justify their transportation requirements by having 2 or more two wheelers, which anyways cost around the cost of one Tata Nano. Indeed, a marvellous job and the car has been launched at the right time where recession is kicking in and peoples' transportation requirements yet increase.

Will our Road Infrastructure Developement cope with the pace at which TATA NANO will be sold...???

Abroad- Park and Ride concept are followed and are successful were in public park their own vehicles at designated spot and take Public Buses to the destined Commercial centers..

On doing so they save time, cost and avoid traffic congestion in and around Commercial Centres...!!! this is legally enforceable steps taken there...

But in India , Auto industries are Growing at pace which Road Infrastructure is not able to cope up with.

Yes, surely Nano is a good option for middle class people.they will go for four wheelers like Nano when they have hit the market with a feasible rate.It will raise the level of a middle class family having good comfort at a low price.

yes ofcourse why not, with so many advantages that the car has, one will easily go for this car,as nowadays where bikes are costing more than 1lac, it would be worthwile to buy a car with the same amount, but with only 50 - 60000 that will be supplied this year it will be very difficult to get hands on it, but in the coming year the production will be raised to 3 1/2 lac per year.....

it's not a car ,it's a auto rickshaw with car's shape..its much better to travel by bus so that roads will traffic free and no need to be a auto rickshaw driver....

Car is known for comfort and safety . We already have cheaper version cars in the market. They have been tried  by middle class segment and buyer goes for better version, after using these models.

This car may be best suited for driving with in a city ,i.e., for shorter duration and in congested roads. They should have added some more facilities  like four wheel steering ( used for parking purpose ) and two seater facility i.e., driver +1( MAKE YOUR OWN  LAYOUT).

This will definitely add comfort to people who are obese and can not adjust them selves in side small cabin. Of course they may not be able to ride a two wheeler. Also this will improve carrying capacity of car  whenever used for transporting house hold needs, i.e., during  monthly purchase.

Initially  I thought of booking one. Looking at the details I decided against.

My feeling is that the engine power and over all quality are getting compomised to keep cost low.

(Engine should be of  at least 1000 cc and, to call it a car, bucket seats are must.)

The top end model will cost almost 2 lakh on road, leaving us wih good alternatives by paying a little more.

Why i shud by it? Bcz it is cheap. Price is low but i really didn't find a big thing in it. I still like my car, and after trial of NANO, I could say we are compromising with power and safety.

Also, already there are 2 many non- licenced wheecles on road, auto, ganesh auto, rikshaws and now NANO...will increase the jam conditions badly..more suffer on roads in hot wheather.

For me NANO is naaa looo...

It will lead to havoc on the roads in cities like Mumbai which are already suffering from massive pollution and traffic jams.

What Tata nano has achieved is remarkable but as per the present situation of emerging India where public infrastructure policies are of one of the prime concerns leading to safe and quick transportation to the desired destinations I would prefer public transport over having my own Nano. Moreover, Nano is going to create a huge traffic mess in a country where roads are in shambles already. Every Tom, Dick and Harry owning a Nano would mean a million auto-rickshaw kind of cars plying India's narrow streets.....
