Dear friends,

As per the news from Tata, Italian car maker Fiat SpA and Tata Motors Ltd intend to sell Tata's ultra-low-cost Nano model jointly in Latin America.The two were studying further cooperation to add to existing projects such as a partnership to produce engines in India. The first Nano, the world's cheapest car, was delivered this month. The car's production run for the next two years is already sold. The Nano is being sold in India for 100,000 rupees excluding taxes. The Nano passed the European "crash test" safety standard, allowing it to be sold in the Europe market and a launch is foreseen at the end of 2011.

NANO was primarily built keeping in mind the needs of Indian customers. I think the majority sales will come from home especially from the Taxi market.

Though TATA Motors have built the Nano considering Indian conditions, the Latin American Nations are on the similar path of development as us. If the car like Nano Europa is being prepared for the Europe, a similar venture may prove fruitful in Latin America as well. Besides a well packaged car always succeeds, say Citron 2CV.

NANO was launched by tata motors mainly keeping in view making four wheelers affordable , economical ,accessible to every person, family irrespective of income,status ,. etc. I think it takes more time because its launched just recently and firstly it has to prove that its indias best small car compared to Indian market leader MARUTI SUZUKI s basic model alto, even tjhough Nano is cheaper .

Secondly even though people prefer luxury cars abroad but do rmember the european market also looks negative. Heavy job losses, salary cuts are going around there. And they may try for this small car Nano atleast for their cost cutting purpose because in foreign countries out of every 1000 people , 700 travel by four wheeler only. But anyways Maruti is getting lot of demand & orders from europe also. 

I feel Nano stlll has a LONG DRIVE to go . Anyways its launch during recession looks postive because its affordable.

But firstly India.

Sir I agree with you that Indian market will accept Nano with their hearts as this is the only minimum cost car with a brand name of TATA. This will help the middle class people to have their own car and again people may buy this car for gifting to their near ones as its very cheap. So Indians are going to get more on roads with Nano as compared to Europeans. But again we cant just neglect Fiat-Tata venture and European countries mostly like Fiat as a promising name and may accept Fiat's this Nano gift easily because of its low cost, durabilty, and space. being of good fuel efficiency, size & features this can prove something big in the European market. Again the similar conditions may occur for Latin America.

In Abroad, generally people give more preference to Luxury cars whereas in India people are more concerned about price. So I think Nano will have more market in India than in Europe since very less people here want to have car because of the price. By launching car of only 1 Lakh, people of India will be benifitted more in cost factor............
