The "Golden Chariot", the luxury train run by Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation has seen a rush of corporates as KSTDC has launched a sales blitzkrieg to woo them with an attractive three-day package. And this Golden chariot had also run last year, which I guess had a successful run which is a totally high-end luxury train which has bar, spa and whole lot of other facilities.  They received an excellent response to the package among the corporates this year.

He said the package was drawn up keeping in mind the sales potential of the corporate sector, who have the money, but no time at their disposal. The package, priced at Rs 9,500 per person covers the tourist circuit of Bangalore-Mysore (Kabini/Bandipur/ Srirangapatna) -Hassan (Belur, Halebid, Shravanabelagola)- Hampi (Vittala temple, stone chariot)-Pattadakal-then finally to Goa".  And I guess there is similar kind of service offered by Rajasthan Tourism board like "Palace on Wheels".

What do you think people will this kind of concept like Golden chariot drive in more travellers from both domestic and International? Do share your views on this.

I think this is a great concept and it gels well with the Incredible India ad that is run in all over the world on prime time spots, and this kind of service will offer various kinds of offers for International travellers, but I guess it will be a bit costly to Indian travellers, but Indian corporate houses and professionals from these industries can easily afford and it all comes down to the quality that these luxury travels provide, a train going to all the popular locations in the state and the service that is offered is truly royal, a personal chef and a bar, a spa and what not, and the accomodations that are made are truly good hotels and bus picks them up where train stops, every thing is hassle free and this will drive many travellers to consider these kind luxury travel, even if it costs more on your wallet but then one will really experience a royal treatment for sure, which every traveller wants the most.

Of course it will work. It is an fantastic idea. It will be another milestone in the tourism success of India. It will be a success just like the "Palace on wheels" in Rajasthan. This will pull more and more foreign tourists and would multiply the tourism rate in South India...

I don't think it will be a great bang. Because of the high prices it is charging, not everybody will be able to afford it. I think Golden chariot again needs to decide on its cost and rate factor so that it can attract even common public also...
