Sorry Rashida, what is the debate here? i dont think we can do an either or between corporate dressing and credentials. Both are absolutely neccesary. one without the other will lead only to failure in the short as well as long run. However if corporate dressing is defined only as "western dressing" then definitely it is the person's choice what she wants to wear. Men i guess are disadvantaged, because they might have lesser clothing style options.

I believe it entirely depends on the nature of job/industry/profession. For example, banking and marketing demands a specific dress code, whereas creative and vocational industries like web designing, fashion designing, advertisement, disc jockeying hardly require any corporate dressing. Having said that, the importance and necessity of corporate dressing cannot be ignored. A well dressed office instils a culture of discipline, efficiency, positive body language, and in general, adds value to the credentials of its employees.

I am a sucker for uniforms and I love dressing!! Corporate dressing is a nice code for identification and creating your own niche and that I think is a brilliant brand support communication that corporates should carry. It syncs you with the entire message and makes you a very integral part of the coporate strategy. It also adds a sense of pride and belonging!! Otherwise like Domenico says, "Change the sport mate" :)

corporate dressing definitely sparks off the initial image in the peoples' minds. they say"the first impresson is the last impression", the same applies here. credentials are undoubtedly important as that would help the employee to survive in the organisation. however if there are two interviewees with equal more or less equal merits, the person with a proper corporate dressing and a better appearance would surely hit the bull's eye..

Yes - corporate dressing is important and effective - this is because first impressions are based on looks and appearance. At the time of interviewing and in all interactions at work our presentation and dress definitely make an impact on our audience. Credentials become important at the next stage - delivery and work performance.

Corporate Dressing is important. This is one of the core issue which gives altogether a different taste. No doubt credentials are also important.

Corporate dressing, if any, to me is simply another internal rule to comply with. If there is someone in place, it's part of the game: I'll play it (if you don't want, may be the best way is to change "sport")

What is corporate dressing in the first place? Cold climates require one to be dressed in coat and nechtie yet the same becomes uncomfortable in warm Indian weather conditions at times. And wearing clean Dhoti Kurta may as well become a corporate dress one day, no one knows. It is subject strengths that matter of course neat clean dress is forever good.

I think credentials matter the most as what is important is how much you are worth the job rather than how gud u luk

DRESS IS A PART OF THE FACE LIFT. BUT GOOD CREDENTIALS PROVIDE HEART & SOUL TO THE PERSONALITY OF A PERSON, OF COURSE MORE OF A WELL DRESSED PERSON. bUT TO ME,"MANNERS MAKETH MAN" "MORAL & MANNERS" SAYS SMILES "LEND JOY & COLOUR TO LIFE. BEAUTY OF FACE CHARMS THE SIGHT BUT MANNERS WIN THE SOUL" WE HAVE VERY OFTEN SEEN IN THE CORPORATE LEVELS VERY, VERY SIMPLE PERSONS AS TOP EXECUTIVES. DRESS, THEREFORE DOESN`T MAKE MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE UNLESS IT IS OBLIGATORY FOR ALL IN THE OFFICE.
