The period when Kamasutra was written was a time when Religion was in its peak. People were leaving home and were becoming ascetics. The speed was so high that a fear of losing all the male members of society could be seen which became a threat for the continuation and developement of human kind and society. So, it was necessary to stop them from taking "sannyasa". For that, it was necessary to diverge their mind from God conciousness to material bondage for which, the best solution was to induce lust in their mind. Because of these all those places, where common public used to assemble, different sculptures inducing lust in human mind, was done. Paintings in Ajanta, sculptures in many Hindu temples books on sexual relations like Kamasutra everything were done so that a person when sees those things gets a lusty feeling in his mind and doesn't leave home to become an ascetic...

A poetry or any other art form is appreciated only for it preserves the best human thoughts; and the best thoughts are those which revolve around realities of life.

khuswant singh's  book :: scotch ......  et al.

even our MFHUSSAIN is not lagging behind ( his painting of madhuri dixit has got a real meaning )

[ we need rave reviews of luckhnavi nawabs also on these paintings ]

whether mf hussain was platonically involved with madhuri ( only mf hussain can answer better )
