Some say knowledge is the most valuable acquisition, but character is more valuable than knowledge. One may be a learned scholar or hold high positions of authority, or may be very wealthy or be an eminent scientist but if one has no character, all the other attainments are of no use at all. Sacrifice, love, compassion and forbearance are the sterling human qualities that you should foster. One must get rid of jealousy, hatred, ego and anger, which are bestial tendencies.

If character is so important, why did Dr. Ambedkar the architect of Indian constitution take such a strong stand for the Dallit in India? well it’s now more of a vote bank politics. Dr. Ambedkar was no Idiot nor was he an agent of Nehru.

In India mostly children grow up with an experience of scarcity which moulds their character, then a group of people (opportunist) hit them hard, they say “character is the heart” no matter what dress he / she wear his / her character won’t change.

This was Dr. Ambedkars life time realization as he felt, if my country has to prosper people have to rise, which may need support, i.e. he wanted the government to provide reservation for back ward people, as India lives in villages where opportunity even today is scarce or absent in spite of 63 years of Independency.

Dr Ambedkar himself hales from backward tribe who were not allowed to drink water from the village pond, he was the first from his tribe to go to school, high school, University, and then a Doctorate from Columbia University. He hoped some assistance will help others to reach higher in life which is getting a better character, from a better environment .

So Knowledge creates environment which nurture character.

Human beings are born unique while animals are bron free.

I support character. If you develop a good character lots of people will come with you to share their knowledge. So character paves way for knowledge.

I think character, bcoz what is d thing, people known for?..that is character not knowledge alone!..to become knowledgable is easier than becoming a good/strong character person..for ex. Our PM is a very much knowledgable person but doesn't have strong character..

THE SIGN OF MATURITY IS NOT WHEN WE START SAYING  BIG THINGS BUT IT IS ACTUALLY WHEN WE START UNDERSTANDING SMALL THINGS. CHARACTER.

They are complementary to each other. Both are required. Knowledge without character is useless so also the character without knowledge can not prosper.

Indian PM is not at all a suitable example he is a manageable toy rather boy toy, than a knowledgably man, had he been knowledgeable he wouldn’t have got into this mess for the second time.

How can a character shape up without knowledge, can a diamond glitter without being cut and polished? It is a piece of stone!!

A character without knowledge would be a beggar, so for a creation of a powerful character versatility of knowledge is needed, or how would you experience a character without knowledge.

Why would character be a small thing, it’s the stepping stone in any language to assimilate an Idea a conversation, or an abstraction.

The debate will cease when we try to define "knowledge".In today's scenario people have forgotten what is "knowledge".Knowledge is what makes a man a true human being, nurturing humanity,THE CHARACTER.Rest everything is know-how. Thanks.

WITH ACQUISITION OF KNOWLEDGE POSITIVE THOUGHTS EMERGE. Thoughts lead to actions, actions form habits, habits form a character. Character forms destiny.
