As we genetic engineering is used in many different i.e.,Agriculture, medicine, Environment etc..Many consumers and companies have expressed concerns about genetic engineering and impact it might have public and environment,But most of all, these people believe there should be regulations on genetically altered foods, such as safety testing and labeling of products also the benefits of this technique could arguably help in solving the world's issues with hunger, malnutrition and environmental impact. Like any other science, genetic engineering also has pros and cons, so what are the Pros and Cons of Genetic Engineering..

unless we try out something new it will not lead to something better and anyways its the survival of the fittest so may the fittest survive. If we do not experiment Nature will. The situation is changing fast and evolution must pace up to keep pace with the changes.so no harm

unless we try out something new; then one day will come when our natural resources will be extinct, so we have to develop new product and protocol, without disturbing the economic balance of our natural resouces and which we can only able to do throgh genetic engineering.

In most part of world farmers have got huge revenue using genetically modified crops.Even in India BT cotton has made 600 times more production than conventional one.If any one need data I can provide it too.

well every technology has its cons then why is GE being targetted by ethical issues? is hacking nations databases and risking life of millions to millitants not unethical? GE is the only technology which is capable of generating humans basic needs of food, better cures and a healthy life overall. God knows his job of when to stop humans so i by my faith beleive that its impossible for humans to create human b artificial means so the whole fight about it is baseless even "dolly" was imperfect. i can just say the potentialities of GE should not be ignored..........bigger risks does give better gains....

I could say using GE we get higher crop yields, improved nutritional values, pest control and the potential to grow crops on land that is currently unsuitable for cultivation.Engineered seeds are resistant to pests and can survive in a relatively harsh climatic conditions.

Gene therapy in human beings can manifest certain side effects. While treating one defect, the therapy may lead to another. As one cell is responsible for many characteristics, the isolation of the cells responsible for a single trait is indeed difficult.

It will also give rise to harmful pathogens, horizontal gene transfer can give rise to new pathogens. While increasing the immunity to diseases in plants, the resistance genes may get transferred to the harmful pathogens. Why cant we improve traditional crops without GM crops....

Sir, but genetic engineering in food involves the contamination of genes in crops. Genetically engineered crops may supersede the natural weeds; they may prove harmful for the natural plants. Undesirable genetic mutations can lead to allergies in crops and it can also bring many diseases to mankind,Critics believe that genetic engineering in foodstuffs can rather hamper the nutritional value while enhancing their taste and appearance.
