For a month long time there was a campaign running online where many people registered to quit facebook on May 31 Monday if you're fed up with the site's privacy policy, which has got a constant hammering for privacy issues from its users.

That's the message from the organisers of www.quitfacebookday.com, who have annointed May 31 as the day to shut down your Facebook account. The social networking site recently made numerous changes to its privacy policy, including enabling its business partners to obtain the personal information and data of users.

If you are thinking to quit then don't worry you won't be alone. Over 25,000 users have already committed to ditching their Facebook accounts over privacy concerns.

So, are you quitting Facebook today?

I don't think so, infact even the 499 million users will not quit, as facebook has become their integral part of their life and at least half of the the number nearly 250 people daily login to their accounts all over the world, I mean may be it will affect a 2% of its userbase but I don' think people will quit Facebook for the privacy glitch that is there, I mean they are taking corrective measures, but these campaigns www.quitfacebookday.com will not serve a purpose, but yes people are concerned regarding the privacy issue, I don't want my profile to be visible to others for any purpose.

i don't think so because that is a social networking site and that is useful to connect people and share the views people are misusing it other than that it is very useful to keep in contact

FB didnt took any action that has made their intentions very clear, now, quitting FB may not be a right solution.

There are only 02 ways you can react.

1) Ignore & continue with your works

2)Launch another page that reflects "freedom". This one was tried by one person in favour of Adolf Hitler where he supported him & his actions.

Within no time th epage was flooded with comments & FB announce closure of that page.

The problem is not the FB, th eproblem is the mind set.

I still prefer Ignorance is the right action rather react the same way other do, as eye for an eye will make the whole world blind.

Look at the DANISH Govt...they are incurring huge losses which will be compunded to $ 80 bn by the end of this year.

Slow protest in a right direction is the only solution to defeat all such people who try to play with the sentiments/feeling & belief of others.

I am not quitting facebook...Its one of the ways I keep in touch with all my friends.I don't think if there is such a security threat, then so many users would not have formed this online community...I do agree that there is a need to improve privacy in facebook and lot depends on the users..The users must not allow most of their private information available to everyone..

Actually privacy is cared most in face book. It first makes one conscious of its possessions. The mirror image is one which though is personal is always public.
