I have joined this ‘Too Step’ with a hope that I can enhance my skills and knowledge, and share my experiences with younger generation. Alas ! I am mistaken !!

There were many postings against which I raised flags. For example Gold Mine luring people that he has several millions with him and looking for somebody to share it. How can we, professionals believe this trash ?

And discussions like “Toilet Paper or Water, which will win”… disgusting…

Added to that some postings say “hi I am here… “  Another says “madam please help me”

As if this is not sufficient “ Maha Dharma” preaching… Let me live like a professional.. why do you want to convert me to your ideology… is it the site meant for that ??

When Rs. 1.76 Crores are lost and gone down the drain to fill the coffers of all political parties and the guilty not punished (not even an FIR filed against him) we are worrying about Rs.63.00 Cr lost in parliament debate.. Let them lose 76,00,000 lakh crores in debate and save at least 1,00,00,000 Crores for the India. Let them recover..

Definitely not a site for professionals… it is meant for people having no other work..

Yes..of course there are some meaningful discussions… may be 2 to 3 percent… For this 2 to 3 % why should I waste my balance time of 97%

Either Too Step must wake up… Or other must raise a flag against Too step

Mr. Murthy, thanks for the invitation to participate in this debate. Firstly I must say that I am no longer making any significant contribution on this site but could not resist this topic.

I do believe that everyone is entitled to his views/opinions. However what goes on at TOOSTEP are not debates but simply people crticising each other comments and only supporting and praising their friends. I have had my shares of criticisms and praises. However, I came to realise a long time back that TOOSTEP is a site for Indians and foreigners like myself can hardly fit in. Majority of topics discussed here are based on the Indian scenario which is really no problem. The annoying part is when people post a lot of unnecessary stuff, this is when you have to ask the question, is this really a professional site? The next question is who is going to edit these post before they become visible on the site? This site is not only for professionals but also for students and if you notice there are lots of Freelancers also. My experience here has not been too good with Freelancers, if someone wants to make a fool of you, they come on this site with fake IDs write a set of rubbish, then they either get banned by Toostep if you report the matter or make their exit after completing their agenda.

I would not passed judgement whether this is a professional site or not...but what I can say that there must be some mechanisms in place to deal with the unprofessional stuff. Technology has climbed great heights so with the help of some technology I am sure all rubbish will get dumped and the site would once again attract all the good professionals who has quit this site.

Best of luck TOOSTEP.

You are mistaken or you are not looking at good discussions. Your assessment of 2-3% professional oad 97% yrash is wrong. before making such statements please make a statistical analysis give facts and figures. Also please note that even professionals need to think and know about, good governance, present day politics, environment etc. Instead of blaming please contribute with good stuff. remember that such negetive thinking will result in spoiling the 2-3% good stuff.

Absolutely right Satwinder..! Be urself and those who are not willing to answer, should simply ignore. If you ignore such questions, you brings professionalism. :)

The question itself is asked on a professional site, so you cant have loose comments as on FB, etc.. But the answer is YES. It is up to you to find it..!! why do you want to go with other ppl remarks..!?

Its a good site to express your thought about different topics, government and social issues but many a times i have seen people getting emotional and writing out of their frustration. I think these things should be avoided on a social site or may be they are taking advantage of their freedom to write. I can show you an example by the following link and can also find many of such kind:

It is very good platform for the youngsters to get insight of trends in the business environment that affect every industry. for people like who have just completed their education it is learning opportunity to argue with the leaders in the industry.

I have joined Too Step because I found it an intellectually stimulating social networking site, much different from its peers which are more like virtual college canteens. The Knowledge and Insight sections are the backbone of Too Step. However, I feel a strong need to start community groups on two core areas -- Foreign Policy and Defence. I can help considerably in this as I have over a quarter century of journalistic experience in these areas, provided some responsible official of Too Step asks me for it.

Mr. Murthy, thanks for this. The members in Too Step are professionally holding good experience. That is what induced us to join here.If the discussions are more based on sharing professional experience, then it will be a more useful to a beginners like me. Non-professional discussions also can be debated or shared if it is really useful. Others we may avoid. Thanks for pointing it out.

Toostep, obviously, has to go a long way! I agree with Mr. Murthy, this site has of late become a pastime entity! Good articles and ideas are missing! The reason being, any one wants to give insight looks for a potential target audience. In most of the cases, I find the comments are absurd, points not very well taken. This kind of superficial approach to any issue will only dilute the interest level. I did see a good writers in the past have taken a back-seat. Another point I would like to make here is for any useful discussion, there has to be a meaningful follow-up. You generate consensus on a hot topic and do something to alert the authorities, government, policy-makers. You have a very nice platform to generate views from cross-section of society, that will really help the policy makers, UN and other bodies to understand the issue in perspective. All like-minded people will certainly contribute effectively if their churned energy is generating some useful endeavour. A platform with the magnitude of this nature can do much more than what is happening! Who knows, the creators have different business strategy, viz., selling our views, database, etc. in order to rake up funds for future!

Mr Murthy, though I understand and empathise with your feelings, this is the world we live in. Daily we come across some useful and nice things, along with a lot of not so useful stuff. Its up to us to embrace all that is useful, and ignore all that is not. Also, freedom of expression means that people have a right to air their views, and while we may not like some of these, its a great deal better than not having such freedoms

Yes, it's our downfall as debate /insight/question etc is started by an individual & not by Toostep , & this is the main feature of every social network. But still I consider Toostep is more knowledgeable social site than other sites.
