I agree people just for heck of it are posting any debate, I recently saw a debate wherein a senior citizen was aksing about teh dres code of females!!!! What has too step got to do with female dress code, heavens where are we heading, and one thing i have noticed is people always wnat to increse their point size, if you see anybody with more than 2000 points ask that perosn t join soem group, why ? I do nto see many people on too step who used to give their regular comments any more have they retired form too step due to this poor quality debate if that is true then I regret to state thsi is a loss for all of us

Perhaps, Mr. Deshpande has a point there. I am one of the earliest members of Toostep. I am also a member OF LinkedIn, Facebook and Peergroups, and twitter and few other. Finding Toostep simple to use, I created 5 different communities in Toostep and have over 4000 contributions in the form of Insights, Debates, Ideas and Q&As and Comments in other’s postings. Toostep started as a good forum for mature discussions. The problem as on today is that a sizable portion of members are only interested in posting articles, debates and Q&A's, without even bothering to look whether the same issue is already under discussion or debate and try to join in or associate their topic also with those. Many new members, whenever they see an interesting topic in the forum, start another one of their own on the same issue / subject. We also see of many new members are not interested in giving comments and opinions on other's posting or even make any follow up of comments on their on postings. I doubt that many even care to read, evaluate, summarise and rate comments even of theier own posting. May be that is why you find the site so drab to you now, and I don't blame you for that.

Mr. Deshpande, i am also new to too step. I have joined approx. 3months back,. I didn't feel too much changes maybe problem is continuing before my joining. But your point is right that all debates are not up to mark. I had seen too many repetition of topic in short period of time. Some are meaning less. But there are so many topics which are quite good. We can continue with good debates, topics whereas ignore meaningless discussion. I had tried to ask some meaningful topics here, but will try my best to improve as per our expectation.

TRUTH ALWAYS SOURS.IT IS ABSOLUTELY TRUE.THERE IS NO CONSISTENCY IN PEOPLE RESPONDING TO CONTRIBUTE. REGARDING THE STANDARD OF ENGLISH BY RESPONDENTS BETTER NOT TO DISCUS.THERE ARE REGULAR ONE WORD RESPONSES OR AFFIRMATIVE RESPONSES,WITH VERY LITTLE CONTRIBUTION.

I agree but with pinch of salt. too step originally was formed keeping in mind the professional enrichment of middle and senior level professionals, whose level of maturity and seriousness is at a different pedestal, whereas today you find students, junior entry level executives, free lancers, non serious retired people airing their views. duplication of topics, simple one word agreement and disagreement. but i do see light at the end of the tunnel.

Yes ... Mr Deshpande, as u r new, U may just ignore the below remarks : Just a few hrs back, in replying a Question-posting I started like this : " .. Most often talks are not supported by (historical) data, fact, reality, logic and even knowledge of the experts. Loose talks, floating ideas and assumctions etc. may mar the whole discussion on a Professional platform like TooStep ." -- the other day somebody was writing that some of the Question postings are just the digital version of Economic Times, nothing elementary .. ! -- if copy_pasted from elsewhere no show of "courtsey" to that site/ writer - at least we may mention as Copy_Pasted As has been highlighted by one of our oldest member on TooStep, participats do not : - evaluate others' remarks/ postings going thru thoroughly - thams up or thums down if in a hurry ( either 0 or 1 ) - revisit their own postings and look for the review of that I have to ask to TooStep : have U engaged some staff for posting questions ? If so, please help them to upgrade their knowledge/ skill . However, Mr Deshpande is welcome here and we wish, to some extent, he will be here as "Change Agent" so long he is not frustrated.

Agree with you, Mr. Deshpande. I've been on TooStep for a fairly long time and have become somewhat disillusioned by this site thus don't visit it as frequently as I used to. A professional is a person having expertise and specialized knowledge in field which one is practicing professionally. S/he is a 'go-to person' in the field which one is practicing professionally. The members of this site tend to post anything on everything, irrespective of its relevance to their domain. They don't come across as professionals but as generalists who have to express their opinion just because they have one. And often there is lots of repetition.
The professionals on this site seem to be on this site just for the sake of virtual networking. The value of social networking, especially for businesses, is in the opportunity to form real, genuine relationships with people and organizations who are relevant to your business, and who may be far less approachable in real life than they are on the Web. Despite the efforts of some serious members, we have not been able to organize a meetup.

Abraham Sir, You spoke my mind. I am relatively a new member and when I joined around 6-8 months back, the quality of debates and ideates were so high but recently it is so detoriated that some meaningless and one liners without a clear idea about the topic are posting. I posted a question on the same topic also. Some times I feel that there is no use of so many connections or followers. I can count on my finger tips how many are actively participating. Hope things will change.

Gargi: Thank you for joining in this debate and for your input and tips on ways to better utilize this platform! I agree with you when you say that TooStep is interesting. I have found it very interesting. But, what I am trying to gauge here is whether this platform, like linkedin, will be a value add for me professionally, or, it is a "social networking platform" and not a "professional networking platform"

I agree with the views of Mr. SR Shyam Sunder, same here. There is too much repeating of the topics & subjects time & again. Insights have considerably decreased and Debates have increased, many times leading nowhere. Copy - Paste is OK (Of course with Courtesy to respective sites / authors), as its good to have the knowledge consolidated at one Platform Overall, participation has diminished but I am sure, we will see this Platform buzzing once again soon

All is fine, except some copy pasted views/ideas from some people & repetition of arguments at some instances. Also What I think, sources/origin of articles/views should also be revealed, if not original. Nevertheless, its a great platform & I personally have taken many goodies from here & hope the same in future too.... Thanks Mr Kusari for referring.

When I joined this platform, I used to very actively participate. Of late, I rarely enter. I used to feel very bad that I did not respond to 360 degree feedback requests of few people for more than 2 months. I have now completed. Earlier, when a good post was made, all those who read it, used to just say I agree; thanks for reference etc. When some one had a different view, it was made. Overall, the toostep space was filled in interestingly. I now feel this platform lacks clarity. I can not pick up interesting topics as easily as I was able to earlier. I am not even able to view responses to my own posts. It is actually my duty to view responses to my posts and react appropriately. With so many postings, I can't even keep track of what responses I am getting. This way, my interest in toostep is dwindling too; step by step!!

No deshpande since you have started using it you find it difficult but once you use it regularly you will find many interesting things happening. There are many interesting things on toostep which is not there in any platform. So try to join in communities and connect to people, will find the platform more exciting....... :)
